I'm a big fan of the Marvel series but this movie couldn't speak for itself and just be a good movie , had to be the racial trigger for the sjw's. I'm skipping it because I'm just burnt out on everything being political. I'm sure it's a good movie but I think it's being forced as black power instead of just a good hero movie. Do people say Superman , Spider-man are white power movies ? Nope . Why is black panther any different. Shame

One of my kids asked to see it. I said no, for exactly this reason. Who cares what race the protagonist is, but the BS buzz around the movie? No thanks. My oldest has started voicing racist views for first time since his birth, 16 years ago. It is pure backlash. I didn’t teach my kids to be racist, but getting treated like they are evil for being white( my biological kids), after spending years teaching them to treat everyone the same... I have adopted kids,as well, of a different race, so I hate to see hatred stirred by any group.

Then of course there are Hispanics, like you mention, which make up a majority of: Dallas, El Paso, Houston, Laredo, and San Antonia in Texas. Fresno, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Riverside, Santa Ana, and Stockton in California. Miami, Florida, and Jersey City, New Jersey.

So think about it... If that is your universe. If that is where you live, day in and day out...

To answer your question, that is why many Black people expect to be represented fifty fifty in everything.

As for if the Black Panther movie will be a great:

I bet it's gonna be a fun movie. Most of the Marvel movies have been really good, and the Black Panther trailers look really awesome.

When I remind people that we grew up watching the cosbys, fresh prince, fat Albert, Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy...they act like those things never existed.

When I offer that Oprah and whoopi both got nominations for the color purple...they brush it off.

The white, yellow, brown and red races seem to have much thicker skin than the black race. Honestly, we don't care as much as blacks think we do. You can wear an Indian headpiece or a flamingo dress and I won't bat an eye. Because I don't care.
