How to use Oregano Oil for ailments?

Same here. I have heard all about how great it is but I don't know how to use it. Is it edible? do i add it to a bath, do i put it in tea, rub it on skin, etc? I would like to know some answers on this too...

This is the only oregano oil to buy, I love it! Been taking it for years. You can use it topically on bee stings, bug bites. Have food poisoning, this is the best for that. Dr Cass wrote "The Cure Is In The Cupboard" cure being oil of oregano P73

I add four drops of the concentrated oil to a tablespoon of organic hemp oil and take it that way whenever I feel something coming on, like a cold etc. Alternatively you can dilute a few drops in some water, swish it around then use it as a high-strength mouthwash/gargle. You could also dilute it in coconut oil or similar and rub it into the soles of your feet for it to be absorbed transdermally- the same works for raw garlic on the feet- it enters your system and cleanses the blood apparently.

It packs a punch. When starting out you may not want to dilute in water. If you have a dental issue (it numbs gums and kills bacteria - treats abscesses) put a drop or two in some coconut oil and then put in your mouth. Many recommend only a drop or two in a carrier oil if you swallow it. It must be food grade.

Had a bad sinus infection last year that wasn’t responding to antibiotics for awhile. Just before it began to subside I was going to nebulize Oregano Oil

I'm in the UK so the stuff I buy probably won't be any good if you're in the US, but have a look on Amazon maybe and read some reviews? I use Zane Hellas wild Greek oregano oil which I think ships to the states? It's potent stuff! They send a detailed print out with ideas for use although again if you read the Amazon reviews you'll get loads of ideas- hope that helps!

Do you have a process for this you could explain, I suffer from 2-3 sinus infections a year since I broke my nose. Always wondered if a neti pot with oregano would be good?

If you feel something coming on put 16 drops in a gallon of water and drink it through the day. Major Ed Dames said this is what he does.

As good as it is if you rub it on your skin you will walk around all day smelling like a pizza.

I'm full Italian so this may not be so bad.

Yep, I have not had a sinus infection in years thanks to orgenol P73. I use 2 cups of RO water teaspoon of very strong salt water. (I keep pink salt crystals in RO water) and a few drops of oil in nettie pot. Burns like hell, but it's the best cure you will ever do. Sore throat, best cure ever. Under the tongue, tastes terrible, but it WORKS.

Nobody loves stronger than Italian men and Women, however the women tend to have alot of "passion". (they are crazy)

They have enormous amounts of superstitions and lunacy. Cant tell you how many times I watched my mother bring home a bag of hair and nails every time she would go to the salon. She was convinced that someone could put curses on her with her hair or nails.

Do you remember the amount used and how often? Very interesting though and proves its anti-fungal properties.

I take it in capsule form. However, do not bust a capsule open & ingest the liquid. It burns very badly!

Does it burn during digestion?

It depends if you have over 85% carvacol (the active ingredient,) of wild Mexican oregano oil (the effective one) then the best way to use it for respiratory, congestion and eye infections is to start with 3 drops in a big bowl of steaming, hot water. Put a towel over your head and the bowl. You want to have tissues close at hand. Breathe it in. It will sting (maybe a LOT) and that would be the virus, bacteria or fungus dying. Once you become tolerant, you can increase the number of drops. Your skin will also be clear and hydrated over time.

It will be active for only about 5 minutes, so you'll have to add more drops. Do this as many times a day as you'd like, for as long as you like. Doing ooo therapy for about 4 weeks will rid you of allergies, asthma and chronic bronchitis, etc., even if you've had them for years.

For topical use, you want to use one to twelve ratios of ooo to organic olive oil (i.e., 1 drop to twelve drops.) This is for cuts and skin issues. Or, use drops under the tongue, for digestive and intestinal problems.

Breathing it in delivers the oregano oil directly into the blood stream.

Be Careful with this oil. It depends on what brand and how it's mixed. You preferable want to buy it with 63% or higher with Carvacrol. You also want to make sure it has 2% or less of Thymol since it's toxic to the liver in high doses. Look for wild, organic, and non-GMO sources. Avoid fakes on the market. It's not cheap. The links I will provide below are the real deal.

For someone just starting, you can take 2 to 6 drops mixed in a drink or put it under the tongue. Regiment users can go up to 40 drops a day since they've used it for years.

Some is premixed with Olive Oil since it needs a carrier oil. It helps deliver it throughout the body plus it keeps it from burning the throat. You can by it premixed or pure. For instance, this North American Herb and Spice P73Oregano Oil [link to www.amazon.com (secure)] is premixed and can be used right away without mixing or you can choose something like ZANE [link to www.amazon.com (secure)] which is not mixed. You would want to dilute it with Olive Oil.
