Only meat in those brands might be old horse meat. That is corn meal dog food. I wouldn't feed that crap to anyone's dog.

I think it is used to kill some of the animals that end up in the dog food.

My nephew used to work at Target in the meat dept. When meat expired they throw it raw into trash cans (room temp) without the packaging and once a month the pet food people would pick it up.

That tells you everything you need to know.

Supposedly they sanitize it (I guess like the pink slime drama) but still...

BTW that's why target hardly ever marks down meat - they make more selling it spoiled.

I've never seen so many pet sicknesses as there are now.

Please! Make your own pet food. It takes a little time,
but you can save yourself a ton of grief.

Started doing this for my dog and cat in 2006 when China
put ground up plastic "melamine" (the stuff they make hard
plastic plates with) in the meal to increase the WEIGHT.

This is NOT going to stop as there have been similar
contaminations of various kinds repeatedly over the years
since that first really bad one in 2006.

This is the new "normal" for pet food. Sad...but true.

I have a friend that makes their own Dog food and refuses to feed their dog store bought shit because they blame past diseases like cancers etc on store crap.

If I owned a Dog, I would do the same.

I have 2 dogs, I feed them meat, rice and other stuff along with dry dog food.

I think I will cut out the dry dog food.

Their old cheap dry stuff is not be recalled.

It is best to only feed your dog a raw/prey diet.
