Im seeing 215 students at the school? If the town is that small, how could there be "cops"? A town that small probably has 1....just sayin. Our last school district had 1300 students and we had 2 cops.

Not all commemorative "Holidays" require school be out. I've had enough of all Holidays, we have to many, and it's a continual string of making This Day or That day and it's enough. It's like the Companion Animal farce, enough, ban ALL animals except on ONE FLIGHT A DAY from major routes and tell all the animal people they have to fly together. Ditto the Screaming Kids Flight, ONE per day, and all infants toddlers and farters can book that flight. If you are that much of a loser you shouldn't be flying anyway.

When needed the county sheriff dept. And state police respond. We don't have any cops that cover just my town no.

"Lockdown" sounds scarier than it is. It just means no one is allowed in or out of the building. It *should be* business as usual INSIDE the school...

"Lockdown drill" is when they do the "hide in the classroom, lock the doors, etc" as if it were an active event.

A threat made on social media focused on Dutchtown High School and was made by a former student who now lives in another state, Ascension Superintendent David Alexander said in a statement to parents and the school community early Monday.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is working with law enforcement in the other state to detain the minor, Alexander said. He did not say where the student currently lives.

Alexander said there is no reason to believe there is “imminent danger” to Dutchtown High or any other Ascension schools.
