The corporations that control today's music took over in 1996. Since then, radio stations and other musical outlets have become increasingly more segregated with their music. There is no variety.
All of their playlists are sent from higher ups who have decided on what you should hear. These higher ups have deals with record labels on who will be promoted and shoved down your throat. There is nothing organic about it, and does not reflect on what is really going on in the world musically. It's a very evil brainwashing machine.
