It is a hard concept to grasp for most, but it throughout the Bible, and apparent to those with eyes to see.
Paul says, we see through a glass darkly. The Bible says we will see Jesus as He REALLY is. We will have perfected bodies after He returns. We will have the very mind of Christ.
These are scary concepts to those who thrive on this world, and delight in its wickedness. Gossip, rumor, drama, disgusting thoughts, love of self...love of the world. The Bible says if we are a friend to the world, we are enemies of God.
So many look around and think, this is all there is. THAT is what leads to the live fast, die young, get as much as you can while you are here mentality. Lack of morality, lack of insight, lack of real love that puts others first...instead the world is simply a playground to do abhorrent things and masturbate until pleasure becomes pain and everything is meaningless.
Once a person can understand that their life is a but a tiny dot on the timeline of history, and that eternity is reality and far more permanent than this mortal coil, it all comes into a clear view.
This life is but a short moment. Choose Jesus Christ and be saved by His finished work on the cross, or spend eternity in hell.

It may have worked on people who had to rely on relatives and tribe members for information, but nowadays easy access to information allows people to research the history of world mythologies and see the evidence of the harm they've done, and how every scientific and intellectual advancement was made in spite of rigid opposition from the religious types. Who most often tortured and killed the person trying to educate humanity about their ignorance. In hind sight the educator is vindicated, and I've yet to hear any apology from the clerics, mullahs, and other superstitious types for torturing and murdering an intellectual for the crime of trying to educate humanity. If the religious would start with an apology for the harm they've done, then people would probably take them more seriously. As it stands, not so much. So you're going to let those perpetuators of religious tyranny influence your beliefs generations ahead of their reigns? Sometimes, the truth is hidden in the rock, but to shut your heart so quickly when presented with a platter of disinformation... You take the bait, hook, line, and sinker. Open your mind, and your heart, or do you fear your own failures? Do not be afraid, there is truth and understanding, if only you are open to the Spirit of Truth.
