Breaking: Republic Steel set to add 1000+ jobs in Lorain, OH!!

We need true tax reform that removes embedded taxes in the prices of everything produced in this country. That is why we aren't competitive. Added tariffs on imports are not the solution.
America's small businesses are constantly forced to sell out to international corporations which then take American profits overseas to replicate these operations in other countries, selling lower-quality versions of those products back to us.

It is highly surprising, a country like United States of America with population of 330,000,000 people is taking workers from other countries who have 2 to 4 times more population unless American exports and factories grow.

another thing. lets see shit hits the fan in the future and we stop trading with china and whatnot. we wont have enough resources to build here in the usa, because all our factories shut down. we need to have a healthy steel industry for the sake of our country.

Wrong part of Ohio, there's farm land 20 miles to the south. Only a few years ago Ford, American Shipbuilding and Kobe Steel were all in Lorain.Lorain at one time, housed the second largest population of Puerto Ricans, next to New York.

All these East Coast and adjoining states that got hit hard when steel pulled out, will literally see a solid new middle class (especially minorities in the shittybareas) emerge and we know what party they will be crediting their success to (and it’s not the one that treats them as helpless victims).

I'll explain it to you since you seem to be a leftist that has a hard time understanding simple things.

Wages in the US are being artificially kept low by the corrupt government outsourcing our manufacturing to China and then flooding our country with illegal aliens. Part of the outsourcing happened because of one sided trade agreements with China that got rid of tariffs on their goods but they kept tariffs on our goods.

Now that Trump has imposed Tariffs on the Chinese steel our steel can now be sold here which means that the steel mills will be hiring and paying well to produce that steel. And in those areas where the steel mills will be hiring the other jobs will have to compete for employees so they will be forced to pay more in order to attract employees. So while the people in that area will be paying slightly higher for that toaster they will also be getting paid more per hour.

So yes its better to be getting paid more per hour and having the option to buy an American made toaster for 20 dollars more that will last 30+ years.

It is very possible that I am confused on the area, and/or that it has changed significantly since I've been there.

LOL!!! Trump is remaking the GOP into a blue collar party and in doing so is drawing blue collar / union laborers away from the Democrat Party by the thousands. Even leftist shills like Richard Trumka have realized that labor unions are worthless without an economic plan that puts people to work. The Dems are being marginalized to big city metrolibs, illegal aliens and whiny academic snowflakes.

That is since Obama's larger employment numbers.

Lordstown, OH pop 3000 will soon get an additional 1000 jobs as a distribution center will soon be built there.

Amazon is building 2 fulfillment centers in NE Ohio. Another 2000 jobs.
