I like how they don't tell you how to treat it. Especially since most people think that treating water means boiling it.

however, if you boil your water, then you're making it worse. You're increasing the concentration of the pesticide by boiling off water.

If you have reverse osmosis, you're fine. Otherwise, you need to use Activated Charcoal / Activated Carbon to adsorb the chemicals.

If you live there and cannot find a filter system with Activated Charcoal, you can buy the loose powder or pills in the pharmacy used to treat an upset stomach and reduce gas. Open the pills, put powder into a bucket of water, stir it up, and let the powder settle to the bottom, then drink.

It's fine if you drink the powder since it comes in pills that you swallow, but better safe than sorry, try not to drink much as the powder that adsorb the chemicals might release some chemicals when it hits stomach acid.

NOTE: charcoal/carbon does a good job of adsorbing the chlorine in your drinking water. If you can, let the chlorine "out-gas" for 24 hours before adding the carbon so the carbon can be more effective.

...
this is one of many reasons why it's a good idea to have two weeks worth of drinking water for each person in your house.
