(OP) User ID: 77443882 Belgium 02/07/2020 05:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Been talking to a lot of millenials about their student debt. It's demoralizing. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 62759088 They say the colleges and universities didn't explain clearly to the what they were signing. They say that they had no idea they would be paying interest upon interest and never pay down the principle. They say they had no idea that the colleges and universities were making huge money on these loans. For the most part they say, there they were, having arrived at school, their parents having paid the money they saved faced with not being able to get their degree unless they signed for the loan. They signed for the loan. Their parents signed for the loan. Everyone is being impacted horribly. The solution is that the universities and colleges with their huge endowments should be forced to forgive all the loans. but, the kids say that they stealthily sold the loans, under the obama administration, to the federal government who needs the money and won't ever forgive the loans. They get jobs which aren't good jobs and they can't pay off their loans and they are demoralized. they aren't getting married and they aren't starting households. And the parents, some with a million dollar loan bill can't retire. It's a mess, the whole way life used to work is ruined by the loans. Felt very sorry for all of them. There has to be a reasonable solution out there. They are supporting bernie and the dems because they say they haven't heard anything from President Trump about student loans. When you tell them that bernie's plan is almost an impossibility to deliver and the other dems too they simply say that they've, some of them, have been suffering with these loans for ten years and at this point they don't care if someone else has to pay taxes and suffer too because they'll know what it feels like. They are angry and petty and really angry. This is the elephant in the room these days. These kids, without the student loans would be living a full life and spending money on homes and goods and their folks would be able to retire so the next generation could step into those jobs. I love POTUS and I sincerely hope that he address the student loan crisis sooner than later. those people need to join forces and class action law suit the colleges that used deceptive practices on those loans. they will have some responsibility because they signed a contract, but anything hidden will become a viable case. The answer does not lie with the president or any politician for that matter lying that they are going to forgive loans on the tax payers dime. It screws everybody who has paid their loans. It screws the tax payer and people that didn't go to college because they couldn't afford it. responsibility is responsibility, anyone looking for their loans that they signed into to be forgiven for free is seeking special privilege and should be sued by the american tax payer that gets stuck footing the bill. it's the colleges problem - they are the ones that need to be held responsible. If you are intelligent enough to go to university then surely you have the intelligence to read the loan terms and conditions before signing it? |

Student loans The money changers enslaved our youth with this student loan trap. Everyone made money off of these naive people who signed up for classes just to discover too late that they were not accredited, or where hit with some calamity that forced them to leave the course,, but the entire FEE was paid to the institution, fees to the various levels who pushed this mess and then Congress passed laws that said these folks could not Claim Bankruptcy on these FRAUDULENT LOANS. This was a scam to make debt slaves of the folks born between 1980-ish till around 2001. Read or reread the Protocols of the Learned Elders where they have the blueprints for enslaving this generation which denies them good jobs, home ownership, marriage with children.
