This is huge. The Democrats in California used this in 2018 to win many house seats in the midterms. If you give control to a single person or group of people that are partisan cheating can and will happen. These people can "help" voters fill out ballots so they know how they vote. If they don't like the ballot, they can "lose" it. They can also collect ballots from groups of people they feel surely will vote Democratic. Imagine going to a polling place with a pickup truck full of ballots. In California this does happen.

There's a group of us in academia that have kept in touch with one another over the years, and especially since 2017. We're all resigning if these changes come down. The damage to those institutions will never be repaired, and we all feel staying in the field would do irreparable damage to our lives and careers. Everything is so uncertain.

Academia has been coopted by the far left of lefties. There are still some good profs there, but they are constantly being weeded out.

Academia is due for an internal re-assessment of their reason for being.

A 4 year degree is nice for many components in our economic labor needs. But all too often, a B.A./B.S. graduate finds themselves working in areas of the working sector that never touches upon their degree that they now owe $50K and moar on...

College/University needs to be reorganized to make a more efficient and economic impact upon our societal needs.

Agreed with all of that. It's unfortunate to see the need for its destruction when I worked so bloody hard to get where I am, but I think Academia is going to be one of the last hold-outs of the old paradigm. 2 generations of professors will need to die off (along with their ideas) before Academia can be something useful again.

Many should be converted to trade schools. Then the properties would have at least SOME value.
