Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76619054 Hey no doubt we need you tough guys on the ground doing what you do, but the Airman is correct, especially for AF ops, it takes a lot of coordination to make sure when you guys on the ground need backup we don’t drop ordnance Danger Close! Can’t have you guys get FUBAR, . One night at a joint military ball, Army and Navy officers were describing the Air Force as the 'Cinderella' of the military. Upon overhearing this, an Air Force officer replied "Well I don't know much about Cinderella, except that she had two ugly sisters." Air Force brat here! ;) Actual Marine here. The AF loves to think that all wars can be won with jets dropping bombs. History tells a different tale. The AF softens the front lines up to make the ground pounders job easier, and safer...and maintains much of the logistics. Also, the Air Force (until recently) operated most of our space assets. I personally never heard anyone in the AF say the AF could win a war just by dropping bombs. But, they can kill a lot of bad guys from a safe distance though. All services in the military have their mission and their place. And we win wars/battles when we work together. We're on the same team in the end! Something 99% of American voters do not understand (see pic): Oh dear, he’s telling secrets. You see, congress doesn’t actually write legislation. The last item of legislation written by congress was sometime around the mid 1990’s. Modern legislation is sub-contracted to K-Street. Lobbyists write the laws; congress sells the laws; lobbyists then pay congress commissions for passing their laws. That’s the modern legislative business in DC. Moar: [link to theconservativetreehouse.com (secure)] After reading this ... and actually having this person put my thought into words, I have to ask the serious question ...... why do we need the worthless Congress ..??? What are they reduced to ... errand boys ... and girls ..? Who ever has the deepest pockets ..? Does anyone care for the country. Is all this just a joke to those "representatives" who have abdicated their duties in favor of self enrichment. What is real .... anything ..? Is there any way to get rid of lobbyists (and the others too numerous to mention) ... GET RID OF .... like you would a mouse turd ..? The purpose of Congress remains the same, on paper at least. How they execute that purpose has been subverted, hijacked, and sold to the highest bidder. I would wager that a large part of it is truly nefarious. Congress critters doing things not just because of money, but because they are (or have become) truly evil. The process of decades in power (while serving shadow globalist interests) have corrupted them the same that decades of drug abuse will corrupt and change a person. The other part is some combination of laziness, materialistism, status quo, and other vagaries of the primrose path of corruption. Not evil, persay, but definitely not good or even neutral. We don't need to get rid of Congress as a body. We need to get rid of enough of the bad apples to change the paradigm back towards what it was intended to be. As to what massie said, it should be a big deal. It should be leading the evening news and all the pundit shows. It should be the topic of conversation. But it isn't, and it won't be. Even if it gets some reporting, the vast majority of people in the dark who need to be aware of this and pay attention still won't. They're too stuck in their comfortable lives. They never had to fight for their freedom, nor defend it. They don't want to see the light of how dark things have gotten. Those of us here and other places see this as nothing more than more confirmation of what we already knew to be true. We knew it when we heard "we have to pass this bill to find out what's in it". We knew it when the "Patriot act" was passed even though it was the most unpatriotic and clearly unconstitutional bill ever written, let alone passed. I can't put my finger on the exact moment it happened, but at some point the Congress critters stopped hiding this reality. They stopped caring if some people noticed how bad it was. Kinda like a kid who steals some pocket change from his/her parents and get away with it. The next time they take a bit more. Then more, and they get sloppy about hiding it. Eventually what started out as some pocket change that no one would notice becomes $50 out of the purse while Mom is in the next room. Or taking the credit card and buying a stereo. But alas, we already knew this, and the people that should know won't be told, and they won't search it out. Last Edited by Philly Special on 04/29/2020 09:38 PM |
