The pawns are all in place, forming a nice solid slice across the diagonal in the center squares, the bishops are resting side by side protecting the pawns, all of whites pieces have been activated. The Queen is looking at a long drawn out end game.
On blacks side, the pawns are scattered, half the pieces have not been activated and black is in 'duck and cover' mode. The bishops are all hiding in the dark because they are pedo's, the Queen has some weird neck brace thingy on and the game is afoot.
But chess is long and slow and methodical (in classic timing, not in tournament which is 41 moves, or rapid which is anywhere from 1 minute to....whatever you chose). So, it looks like white is sweeping up the blacks pawns, and biding time, until everything is set in motion for a checkmate.
One stupid move in chess (forget the 4d chess crap) and your position falters and you can not take it back. Slow, methodical, well timed and thought out. That is the rule of classical chess. If you can think 8 moves ahead, and your opponent has the arrogance to 'know' the outcome already and only thinks 3-5 moves ahead. You win.
If you are not busy weaving your own magick, you are trapped in anothers spell.
