I remember when this happened to an investment firm and ... over a weekend, the rules had changes and all ... well ... not all but most ... of the investors lost their accounts. When your money is in a bank it belongs to the bank.
In this case the big boss got crossways with the masters and was given few days to pay a hefty amount to the bosses, which he did .... and got away with it.

Gerald lost 700.000.00 dollars .. or about that. I looked for the report on that just last week and found everything Gerald had available ... podcasts .. interviews ... all that ... but the title of the vid that told the story of the theft, and how it was orchestrated, in the archives ... was gone. Washed, scrubbed ... disappeared! The only one out of sooo many and it was totally wiped. I wonder why ..?
Someone needs to get in touch with Gerald and see if he will tell that story again. I knew the names of the corp and the people but can no longer remember them.
