Quoting: girlie45 I know someone who does disaster recovery for a major telecom company. He has been driving around the US, ( not allowed to fly by the company-- he's maxxed) putting dishes ( like dishtv) on the disaster trailers. I asked why satellites,- he said, it's to cover us when service goes down. We pay for the use of several satellites, for phone service.-- he then hurriedly told me "dishes". Telcom companies often pay for other types of service from other providers. For instance, Verizon rents ATT towers/ vice versa, so that in the event of catastrophic failure/low service area/coverage they have service. As a former telecom pro, I know that this has nothing to do with a few potential storms next year- unless they are getting him to do all of the work now ahead of "strikes". He is aware of my experience, we worked together for years at the same company. I believe the 5g is not what we thought it is. If you'll notice every service is advertising-free 5g phones for everyone. When I started in the industry, we tried to go from analog to satellite phones, instead digital won over, for obvious reasons. ( size, we were not fully prepared with extensive towers, etc) I believe 5g is so that phones can work off of satellites for once and for all. Perhaps I am wrong. It's been a long while since I've been in telcom, but something wicked, and fishy is on the way. One last thing, he's also a former federal cop. If he takes a chance like this via text message, he knows the risks but just does not care. The benefits outweigh them. So I guess today, I am taking one as well. He's been my friend for 25 years. If he sends me a text like this, I pay attention. Saddle up, we likely ride at sunset very soon. Free 5G…hmmm - just like free covid clot-shots.
