FDA says PCR tests for COVID are 'gold standard' after CDC admits they catch old infections

Questions about the sensitivities of PCR tests have lingered since summer 2020, but FDA stands behind them as the best detection tool for COVID-19.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky's recent admission that common tests for COVID-19 can detect long-gone infections has some calling into question the Food and Drug Administration's claim that the tests represent the "gold standard" for diagnosing coronavirus.

The CDC's new caution also falls in line with reports going back 16 months about widespread false positives among the so-called PCR tests, particularly when labs run them at high "cycle thresholds," which pick up viral loads that may be dead or too small to transmit.

The CDC's decision Monday to halve the recommended "isolation" time for asymptomatic COVID-19 infections amid the Omicron wave, regardless of whether individuals test negative, prompted consternation in some medical circles.

The agency justified the new 5-day isolation by claiming "the majority of SARS-CoV-2 transmission occurs early in the course of illness, generally in the 1-2 days prior to onset of symptoms and the 2-3 days after."

But Walensky also emphasized that neither rapid antigen tests, which are currently in short supply, nor PCR tests were appropriate for determining if a person can safely leave isolation.

She told CBS Mornings that antigen tests may not be sensitive enough to detect infectiousness, while PCR tests are so sensitive that "it can stay positive for up to 12 weeks, for months and months." People would have to stay isolated "for a very long time if we were relying on PCRs," she told Good Morning America.

The significance of Walensky's declaration, which has sweeping implications for COVID policy in the workplace, school and travel settings, went largely unnoticed except among skeptics of COVID policy.

"Think of all the lives ruined, jobs lost, education squandered b/c of false positives," tweeted Justin Hart, chief data analyst for the COVID contrarian website Rational Ground.

"We've been saying since summer 2020 that the PCR test can be positive at 5 days or 75 days. And ONLY JUST NOW is it being used to adjust policy," he said. Neither Rational Ground nor Hart responded when asked to provide his sources.

So once it became clear that covid was not in fact a pagan god visiting vengeance on the unwashed Trump voters alone, the media and Democrats are now willing to admit the following:

My Dog ( Loo) definitely understands language, and she talks too. She's a pug mix, so it's a bunch of grunts and huffing, but she gets her point across.

She's at the end of her life and suffers from congestive heart failure and arthritis. Today I took her to the vet, and she was so excited to be out in the sunshine. She walked all the way to the vet and hopped over the curbs to get on the sidewalk. I could tell it was a struggle to be in the vet's office, but she knew she was sick.

I promised her she was getting a treat when we left and she ran all around the store till she found the right one.

As we were leaving, she began to limp. I could tell it took a lot out of her to go on our outing today. As we drove home, I had this warm feeling of happiness, I think it was from her. Telling me she will be okay when she goes, and that she loves me just as much as I love her.

We lost our little white pekingnese April this year after 15 wonderful years, he when younger as with me! he loved walks we use to go on long early morning walks. Which stopped as he got older as he would be sore a day or so after.

Two weeks before he passed in April I got his lead that he hadn't seen for 4 years and his walk harness and I took him up to the corner of our street which is not that far, it took him forever to walk there and back but he loved it.

I was happy to think to do it, I will always miss this little dog who had a big heart and a big personality.

He told us with his eyes the morning he left us he was ready to go, he had a seizure during the night before and it was a bad one, he was able to walk but would fall over and sitting outside with him early that morning, he stared off into the distance then turned and looked at Mrs Tibbs and me gave a slight wag of the tail, something he hadn't done for awhile, we knew he was telling us goodbye.

We were getting ready to go to our vets as early as possible and Beanie sitting at his favourite spot at the back-door collapsed into a coma, he never revived, the hardest goodbye.

girlie45 we now have a new puppy, he too is a pug mix and what a rascal, very sweet and loving but full of mischief.

I'm not a granola, sugar free, vegan health type, but I did work in the medical field and I had an old arthritic dog who became part of the family after 12 yr old, got ran over at 14, and ole Brutus his hips got so stoked up he couldn't jump to catch or jump up on the couch. Pops, an old hunter, had given me some old, I mean years old, homeopathic rus-tox tablets for arthritis. I didn't believe in that, so the tablets sat for a couple more years, I was cleaning one day and found them, starting giving them to Brutus, and within the week, less than two weeks, he was jumping up on the couch,and doing all his old ball and Frisbee tricks.
Even the strangers walking by noticed! An old cowboy walking arm in arm with his wife commented on the old dog doing young dog tricks. Brutus lived until 17 1/2, and rus-tox I only gave him two weeks, and it gave him his mobility, flexibility, range of motion.
This experience actually changed my whole thought process on naturopathy.
It's a common homeopathic remedy, I since bought some for myself, cost 5 bucks at a naturalist pharmacy.
God bless you, and I hope this helps your furever friend.

Awww Mr Tibbs your story and all these, hits home for me. We had a pekingnese, he passed February 2020. We still have not been able to get a new companion, just have not found the match. His name was Brick. He was such a bright light in our lives. The best lil guy like ever. Now walks was not his favorite thing, those little legs I usually would end up carrying him home! He was so regal! He loved to walk on the curbing like a balance beam. If you said something his answer was in sneezes, yes sneezes, one for yes and two for no! Whenever I made a meal, I say to my husband 'it's ready' and that little guy was the first one in the kitchen like I was talking to him, which I was as he would eat his meal along with us. If I put his food out just for him he would not eat until we did! Such a guy. He loved his toys and would play throwing them in the air and would love you to throw it and he go get it. Then he would want to play a little tug of war with you! Also when he slept he usually had the tip of one of his favorite toys in his mouth! He was 17.

Andrew knows his fate and he also knows almost and I added almost he will single handedly bring down the Monarchy.

The Queen is coming to the end of her life and in effect the end of her reign, I believe there will be a big push to end the Monarchy, partly because of the eventual passing of the Queen but mainly to the major scandals surrounding a few of the senior royals.

Time ran out, they pulled the PCR test for not being any way shape or fashion a test to find COVID-19. Can you imagine how many people thought they had the COVID-19 virus and didn't? How about the ones who had it and didn't know because of a negative reading or is there really a virus they claim in the first place or were they doing something else? For months they allowed them to continue using a test that couldn't tell if you had the flu or the COVID-19 virus, that is a sore point right now because they are lairs and now, they can't be believed about anything that comes out of their mouths.

They have a test for flu did they try that one? Did they try testing for a common cold, you can get a summer cold worse sometimes than a winter cold?
 Quoting: hankie

I just was shown this official clarification to the CDC's July announcement that the PCR test is being discontinued. It specifically refutes the suggestion that it cannot differentiate between COVID, the flu, and the common cold. So what is the truth?? I'm so confused.

I think (yes, I really do once in a while) it was, in a big part, a delivery utensil. It put toxins right at your brain and close to the pineal gland.
 Quoting: Misspurrrrrect

I don't think I was confused at all; they had those new vaccines and the only way to get people to use the new ones in make them take the new vaccines, of course, it also meant more money in their coffers. If people die, they just put it down as part of the experiment and it is for science, don't you know? Some people are into other things and if they die it's for the good of the world don't you know. There are others that are into it and the dying is good for the world economy don't you know.
 Quoting: hankie

I was told this by a physicians assistant when I had Covid in August of this year. I had been sick for 14 days and needed a negative test to return to work. She came into the room, shut the door, leaned in, and whispered that same information to me.

It's amazing that the CDC is finally admitting this. The good doctor looks frazzled as well. It must be tiring having to hide the truth for so long.

Maybe dumb questions, but isn't 5G already here? What is the 5G rollout? Where does it happen and what happens when it does roll out?
 Quoting: JCAZ

The towers are built but it's not activated I guess. Boost Mobile keeps calling me and emailing me about getting a new SIM card that works with the new network, claiming after the 5th my phone won't work on the network anymore.

Supposedly the Supreme Court is going to hear a challenge to it, because the FAA says it'll interfere with their aircraft navigation systems.

I haven't done anything about it, I'm just gonna wait and see.
 Quoting: BLACK GHOST

Specifically the radar altimeter, which provides precise altitude when landing, especially in low visibility conditions. Very important system.

The FAA has issued an AD (airworthiness directive) about it, but there is no way to fix the problem in the planes currently. The AD just says to put a copy of the AD in the flight manual so crews are aware of the possibility.
 Quoting: Philly Special

^This^ is true. To clarify, Air Transport Aircraft (Airliners) have two Altitude systems:

1) Barometric Altimeter which uses atmospheric pressure to provide the pilots

the height above Sea Level. Atomospheric temperature and pressure impact

the indicated altitude to a limited degree. The pilots have the ability to

"calibrate" the indicated altitude for local pressure variations. Theres more to it

but that's the basic principle.

2 Radar Altimeter which uses radio signals bounced off the ground to indicate

a very accurate height above terrain. The radar altimeters are generally only

active below 2,500' above the ground. These systems are critical for Instrument

Approaches so the computers can accurately calculate the necessary info to

conduct approaches and landings in very low visibility.

5G doest NOT impact barometric altimetry as there are no radio signals

required.

5G May impact Radio Altimeters as there ARE radio signals involved. The

current AD advises pilots to report any observed anomalies in Radar Altimeter

indications when conducting approaches after 5G is turned on.

So, I'm not posting this on the main board, because one, I kinda think of you guys as my "Q Family" even though I mostly lurk and two, if a shill started shit I would be banned permanently by my response.

My son and I had our world turned upside down last night with the sudden and unexpected passing of my mother. She was 67 but could run circles around most people, was adamant about not getting jabbed and I honestly thought we had another 20 years or at least 10.

She had a tennis ball sized aneurysm no one knew about in her stomach that burst and they couldn't save her. Before they realized what had actually happened and she got very bad and they forced me out of the room, she was still talking and somewhat cognizant for almost two hours after it burst. That's how tough my mother was. My son said death had to come for her at night and quickly and she still put up a fight.

I'm still trying to realize that this isn't a nightmare I'm stuck in and need to wake up, but I'm trying very hard to be strong for my son and her therapy dog, who is very sad and very confused. He never let her out of his sight and we almost lost him earlier this year to kidney failure. But he's a little fighter too. He's a Chihuahua, so he thinks he's invincible.

I'm sorry if I'm rambling. I go from that to not wanting to talk at all. But even though my mom never went on GLP, she knew all about Q and would ask "what is the group saying" or "what is Q saying?" She was a Christian, a Patriot and a fighter and the world sucks a whole lot more without her in it.

1. Cloth masks are ineffective against omicron (Leanna Wen, CNN);
2. The vaccinated can spread and get covid;
3. The death rate is comparable to the flu (Chris Hayes);

8. We should focus on hospitalizations and deaths, not case rate (Biden);

We chose data and freedom. You chose alarmism and unearned moral superiority. Stay in NY, NJ, CA, and the rest -- and enjoy the actual paranoid nanny state you created among your friends who reward you for telling them they will kill their kids and grandma if they don't panic.

You need to fast forward to the end of Matrix resurrections. Neil Patrick Harris at the end tells us all what is really going on.

I can't find the quote it's cleverly hidden on the internet.

Truth tellers always are! at the 7: mark she says "that's for using children"

There it is in plain sight we just have to open our eyes to what 'they' tell us. It's not fake.
