I cannot understand these school shootings.

We have never had the right to bear arms in Australia, so I cannot comment from that point but I can from the obvious strangeness around the people who do the shooting.

These shooters have a lot in common, generally they are misfits or people who are a little strange or seem strange, they are generally troubled.

My guess something that gets glossed over if these people, usually young men, have received any counselling, medical help or been examined.

There is usually a sub story of these people having some examination into their troubles but the media tells us that unfortunately these young men have "slipped through the cracks"

My point to all this it is not the gun laws or the right for Americans to own firearms, it comes down to WHY are these gunmen are all the same or similar in background and mental issues?

Why do these troubled young men "slip" through the experts and specialists diagnosis, why do they not receive the medical help these young men obviously need? we hear that they have had years of strange behavior generally at school which alienates them from their peers at school causing them to be outcasts.

Surely the debate should be why these troubled young men get looked over or ignored, is it there are not enough specialists in the United States, is there not enough resources, are these young men outsmarting the professionals?

Is it a money issue that these troubled men are known to snap at any moment so therefor because they cannot pay for any sort of treatment they are released still troubled out into the community?

These I think would be more the debate that should be happening when these tragic shootings take place.

Most people are told to be outraged of Americans having guns, when the argument should be what caused the young man to have mental issues that he could not cope and not given help before committing a mass shooting.

Absolutely everything is wrong with this story.

There is no way he should have been able to get inside a school. This isn't the 80's where anyone could just walk into any school.
