Since he and his father both represented
my state, I decided to read up on Al Gore Jr.

Military Service
"When Gore graduated in 1969, he immediately became eligible for the military draft.
His father, a vocal anti–Vietnam War critic, was facing a reelection in 1970.
Gore eventually decided that enlisting in the Army would be the best way
that he could contribute to the anti-war effort.
This would also improve his father's reelection prospects.
Although nearly all of his Harvard classmates avoided the draft and service in Vietnam,
Gore believed if he found a way around military service,
he would be handing an issue to his father's Republican opponent.
According to Gore's Senate biography, "He appeared in uniform in
his father's campaign commercials, one of which ended with his father advising:
'Son, always love your country'." Despite this, Gore Sr. lost the election.

"Gore has said that his other reason for enlisting was that he
did not want someone with fewer options than him to go in his place.
Actor Tommy Lee Jones, a former college housemate, recalled Gore saying
that "if he found a fancy way of not going, someone else would have to go in his place".
His Harvard advisor, Richard Neustadt, also stated that Gore decided,
"that he would have to go as an enlisted man because, he said,
'In Tennessee, that's what most people have to do.'" In addition,
Michael Roche, Gore's editor for The Castle Courier, stated that
"anybody who knew Al Gore in Vietnam knows he could have sat on his butt and he didn't."
...
"Of his time in the Army, Gore later stated, "I didn't do the most, or run the gravest danger.
But I was proud to wear my country's uniform."
He also later stated that his experience in Vietnam 'didn't change
my conclusions about the war being a terrible mistake, but it struck me
that opponents to the war, including myself, really did not take into account
the fact that there were an awful lot of South Vietnamese who desperately
wanted to hang on to what they called freedom. Coming face to face
with those sentiments expressed by people who did the laundry
and ran the restaurants and worked in the fields was something I was naively unprepared for.'"

Gore had his special people who protected him in Vietnam and no people were not volunteering to go to Vietnam, they were being drafted. Only people who wanted a Military career volunteered. For some reason he did not stay the full tour of duty. Most likely his dad had pull. Same reason McCain was given a pardon for treason and Kerry didn't get off the boat and did get a wound, a splinter in his butt, that was right before he came home. Of the ones who went, McCain did the worse, along with Kerry. All of these got careers in the US gov. Everyone of them were in to lying, Kerry pretend he threw his metal over a wall, and was in the anti war movement, claimed others where killing children and women, he was no where to see anything as this, McCain Killed a lot of men on a ship with is dangerous acts, not counting the damage he did, then he told everything to the Vietcong about plans and about where to watch for them. They pretended he was a Hero when in truth he had a bad mental problem. Gore was in a family of people mostly his favorite uncle who were did things most people would have been in or under the jail for, drug running. He kin to the Armour family, they were into communism or something. They were I think his mothers family.

Wiki is not a good sort of truth, I found it states thing I know is not true. It better to look up old reports from news. Some people were in Vietnam with them and other grew up with them.

Just say their parent were into the government, that was there reasons, they also planed on following the same path. Haven't you noticed the fathers and sons as if it a right for them to fill their fathers shoes, there is daughter also, Pelosi is one.

Now they are media and gov. I sick of this bunch of people living off of us.
