A rep of bloomie just said that bloomie is a self made man not a bankruptcy con artist like President Trump.

And martha mccallum just let that pass and thanked him for being there.

Why do these people not challenge what is said.

I'm so tired of hearing that POTUS is a liar and that all he did was bankruptcy. And when you challenge folks in real life they simply tell you "because he is and you are brainwashed by the trump folks so you can't even see it" and no matter how much I ask them to prove it they say the same thing over and over. It's really reaching me.

In the middle of 1980s I forget the year, had a bigger drop in the stock market in one single day than the drop during the Great Depression. Businesses were going bankrupt, it not unusual for businesses to go bankrupt, nearly all the leading corporations and companies have filed some sort of bankruptcy, they are in the corporate area, not personal.
During those years, Donald J. Trump bought bankrupt companies and these then were his companies, the way he managed the bankruptcies were using the Trump name, he talked the bank financial people into letting him try and save them on his Name TRUMP. He managed to save many jobs by doing this, people who lost out blame him, I can see both sides, if you lost and Trump didn't they think he cheated when in fact they would have lost and the others too if he had not done so.

I think he said one time he didn't have much money to rub together, so if he can bring back companies on his Name Trump then he one heck of a businessman. This is one thing that always got me, he got one large determination, he doesn't quit he hunted for ways around a problem. It is never quit attitude. He had some very hard times around the time of his first divorce, seemed to be everything coming at him from every direction, personally, his wife, he lost a lot of friends and employees in an airplane crash I think his father also passed away around this time before or after. Just because you are born with a rich dad and that dad became rich from his work, does not mean you are sitting easy of you start your own company. Trump worked for his money, in his early years it was on the building site, then he put on a suit for the other part. Just observations of his history in print over the years.
I don't even why I paid attention to him, must have been some of his interviews, I liked what he said, and never changed what he said.

I can say Trump was mostly kind of outside in the social area, you had some very stuck up most elite people in NYC.
You can call them old money.

I think it was around 80-81 when this happened and people lined up to buy gold. Interest rates in Canada went up to 21% and such here to hold inflation down but lots of people went bankrupt and lost their homes. My father went bankrupt when Brantford (Ontario) lost White Farm Machinery and Massey Ferguson factories in the same years. I might be a bit of on the dates, but there was a moment in time after the factory closures that Brantford workers got EI (UIC at the time) cheques and sold more VOLUME of beer then was sold in Toronto for a few weeks. Our population was about 80k...Toronto was millions.

When my husband and I were married, luckily, he could afford to pay cash for our house. Friends of ours were paying 14%,15% up to 18% interest on a 30 year mortgage. That was the norm.
