That's why the narrative has switched back to "cases".

That was the narrative early on, when the deaths weren't happening much.

Then they switched to "deaths" as that toll climbed (by padding the numbers, sending covid patients to nursing homes, etc).

And now back to "cases" to keep the fear and paranoia going.

I also noticed they have mixed in a dash of "we don't know how bad the long term effects of this virus are, so lets assume they are life threatening based on a couple anecdotal cases without context or pre-existing condition history".
