I totally get that, I know false hope gets old fast and we’ve had so much of it for so long.

Personally, having some glimmer of hope to look forward to in the near future helps get me by in this hellscape.

I can only imagine the mind games soldiers at war must have played to make it day by day. Dreaming of the minute they might get to see their family again, eat a hot meal or sleep in their own bed.
