Instead of enhancing operations to rush aid to injured soldiers faster, DARPA is planning on putting soldiers bodies into Suspended Animation when they're injured on the battlefield. Inspired by features of the tardigrades, small nearly invincible bugs, Darpa is seeking methods to 'slow time' down for cells so soldiers injuries don't worsen while they wait for help. By slowing down the bodies natural bio-chemical reactions, the Human body can slowly be put into a suspended animation state, which essentially forces cells to behave in slow motion, as if time had slowed down.
