Inspired by features of the tardigrades, small nearly invincible bugs, Darpa is seeking methods to 'slow time' down for cells so soldiers injuries don't worsen while they wait for help. By slowing down the bodies natural bio-chemical reactions, the Human body can slowly be put into a suspended animation state, which essentially forces cells to behave in slow motion, as if time had slowed down. This reminds me of that one show where people were put in suspended animation and 'preserved' until the world had collapsed and Humans had already evolved. I can't remember what it was called, something pines or something woods |
