CA DOJ's MOST RECENT OVER-STEP - TRUE STORY!!

The following is from one of my very good friends that has a CCW training class and is retired law enforcement here in CA. Sorry to say but this is another example of
CA shitting on it's citizens. Instead if going after hardened criminals, DOJ pussies go after "low hanging fruit" citizens trying to comply with the totalitarian anti 2A laws.

CA DOJ's MOST RECENT OVER-STEP TRUE STORY

WARNING: All who are considering registering the AR style rifle you have “built” Please read this first!
Today a good friend was met at his worksite by FOUR, California DOJ agents. They had previously spoken to his employer and informed them of the situation.
They confronted him regarding the “assault weapon” that he had recently registered on the DOJ website (in an effort to comply with the law).

They asked (told) him they would follow him home and their intent was to confiscate the rifle because he had been “illegally” manufactured as an assault weapon.
Our friend had purchased a lower receiver and assembled it , with the required “bullet button”. He then purchased and upper receiver group to complete the gun. Once he had done this in order to comply (or what he thought was compliance) he filled out information on the DOJ website, uploaded the required photos, and submitted fees.
The agents followed him home. He allowed them access to his home and they requested he open his safe, he again complied. They seized the rifle, allowed him to remove the sights, gave him a receipt and told him he had “illegally manufactured” an assault weapon. (Which is a felony.)

All of this without a warrant! I do not want to hear any non-sense about “well if that was me I would have……blah, blah, blah. Manufacturing an assault weapon is a felony. How many people have or will fall into this semantics trap? Warrant or not, 4 DOJ officers have already made a spectacle at your place of employment, most of us are not going to make a scene by refusing them. Intimidation at it's finest.

It has begun. So please think long and hard before you consider complying with the law in this instance. Maybe you have wasted some money, but what may be the outcome?
No advice one way or another here, but be very cautious. Also consider DOJ has NEVER outlined with any clarity what “featureless” is or means. So going featureless may not work either, this is just people hoping and guessing.
Our friend, taxpayer, father, husband, combat veteran, duped and treated like a criminal, a warrant-less SEARCH (and seizure) of his home and it’s contents with bully tactics from state law enforcement.

Before you get on the phone asking us, your friends, family, and neighbors what it all means, ha! we barely know... so get online and do your research. Print what's important to YOU. Go with your own perception and understanding of the law, not ours or anyone else's. It sounds sketchy to us. We thank Joe for his service including 2 tours in Iraq, and we are very sorry and saddened by the way he was treated today.
