If you're from So Cal Coast don't move anywhere other than the CA Coast in So Cal. Everywhere else in the world is either hot or cold and then you'll be surprised how many bugs and wild beast their are out there.

Washington coastal area is surprisingly affordable, safe, and the people are really nice.

It's also very beautiful, and the weather is good enough never getting too hot or cold, though winters are rainy and grey.

There are some meth users around and jobs are scarce and pay very little, but it's a great area to work from home if that's possible.

I don't think so. Nevada and Colorado are blue states from you libscum from CA.

They infest the big cities and control everything.

What you call a conservative is more along the lines of rino pukes like romney as opposed to real conservatives.

News Flash, reality doesn't care what you think.

The "big cities" of California swayed the vote, while the majority of Counties in California voted for Trump. The area I live in is so damn conservative people from other conservative states say things like "and I thought Texas was Conservative!"

You fall for Left/Right, Us/Them, too much.

The coast is liberal, there's a LOT more to California. This is why there's so many pushes to break the state up like the "State of Jefferson" movement.

Stop being Simple. It's killing us all. Fucking divide in conquer right in your head.

News flash, reality doesn't care what you think either. It is an observable, verifiable fact that CA immigration has turned Nevada and Colorado blue. In the case of Nevada it is Reno and Las Vegas. In the case of Colorado it is the Denver metro area.

You may live in a conservative area. By your own report. And that's fine. Although I suspect that conservative has a different meaning there. In spite of your comment about Texas. I am not that excited about Texas, knowing that their gun laws aren't that great. As well as their demographic future.

And as far as your attack that I fall into the schism, isn't that what we are talking about?

Divide and conquer is a common attack. What it really means, just as an example, is that I am supposed to vote for some form of gun control, doesn't it? Like the 51 % who voted for it in Nevada.

Because, you know, it's reasonable.

Of course the coast is liberal. We all know that.

Stop being simple and claiming that you are a conservative, whatever that means, for example are you a FUDD?

When I see Californians who don't want dozens of laws and don't want taxes and don't want to leave other people alone, I'll consider your divide and conquer attack.

I've heard Idaho is very nice and a lot of conservatives there but winters are cold.

I have friends who recently moved to Missouri and the love it. They bought a home with quite a bit of land for a good price.

If you want a warmer climate, Texas and Arizona. Homes are far more affordable there that in California, lower taxes too.

Utah. My mind was blown just doing I-70 it is just so beautiful. Not a great place if you like weed or are single, but if your life is set, it's right next door, just one state away so you'd be close to home for quick visits.

I wish you would list some of your reasons for leaving. I am trying to get out to Los Angeles, I want to live there for a time at some point. What's wrong with Northern California? I don't get why Southern California expats don't head North of San Fran, to rural? Same issues?

Where in CA specifically are you moving from?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76453027

I live in El Dorado Hills, about 30 minutes east of Sacramento. I'm 46, ex-military, own a Tavor-SAR and LWRC AR15 as well as a few handguns. I live in a "Red county", county that is CCW friendly and I have a permit.

I have been to Idaho and am probably more conservative and freedom loving than most locals. Southern Idaho is starting to grow on me.

Re: Where to move from CA
as a former Californian for 20+ years, the best place is rural/suburban PA. Why?

1. The best medical facilities in the country are located in the Lehigh Valley and Philly. Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute from NY is merged with Lehigh Valley Hospital Network and St Lukes with Penn. Second to none. I pay no monthly premium on my part B medicare except for SSA and 5 dollar copays for my family doctor and 30 dollar for specialists.

2. Most of the water that is bottled to drink in the US comes from PA- some of the cleanest and purest waters in the country. Why? Just ask Pierre, Nestle, Coke, Deer Park, Niagara, Dasani and beers like Samuel Adams and Yeungling that are bottled in Lehigh Valley. Clean water is everything and that is why I live here. The city of Allentown has the cleanest surface water source for their drinking water in the country for a city larger than 100000 people. I fish for rainbow trout in my backyard

3. Education- 6 colleges in a two block area in eastern Montgomery County that include Villanova, Haverford, Byrne Mawr etc. There are so many great colleges in eastern Pa, why go anywhere else for your higher education?

4. I live 90 miles from the beach in the summer and 15 miles from Poconos Mts ski areas. Different weather all year long. Want the wild life - 100 miles from NYC 50 miles from Philly5a5a5a

5. Want to gamble? Gambling is everywhere in PA

6. Want to smoke pot for medicinal purposes? It is legal.

7. You wish to avoid the daily routine of a ton of traffic in S. California. Philly is a dream compare to LA

8. Philly international airport can take you anywhere in the world with direct flights

9. Want to experience the Amish kick back life. We have that too

10. Restaurants- how much time do you have?

11. No state or local tax on your disability income

The only thing that is bad is the property tax for the local school districts is high but that will change soon with the state raising its sales tax to eliminate this issue. We currently pay no sales tax on food and clothing.

I will not move anywhere else

The problem with all of California is it's represented by only a small wealthy part of people that live along the coastline. Most people say that the worst part of California is the cost, but for me it's the liberal mindset that is the most annoying. I'm so fucking sick and tired of being taxed to death while being treated second to an illegal immigrant. Illegals have special protections but I have to register my AR15 like some kind of criminal. I'm actually going through a divorce right now so I may say fuck it and leave for someplace else alone.

Go to Austin, TX. Its just fruity/liberal/stupid enough to remind you of home (in CA), the housing prices are starting to go through the roof, and cost of living is on the rise; but you can travel a short distance to normalcy.
