Mechanical failure

Helicopters crash... it’s just what they do. First, last and only time I’ve ever been in a helicopter in Hawaii it nearly crashed. Propeller started making super loud squeely sound and the pilot turned back and landed in a national park in the mountains near the Napali coast because he was worried we wouldn’t make it back to the air field Fuck doing that shit again

I think the Mi-8 is the most mass produced helicopter in the world - A great helicopter - it is everywhere.

They aren't junk by any stretch of the imagination. They are a preferred helicopter around the globe for their ruggedness and ability to fly in the most hostile conditions with minimal service schedules and repair. These things fly in the dust of the middle east to the coldness of Siberia to the Asian Himalayas.

Every once in a while helicopters crash.
