Anonymous Coward User ID: 76260492 United States 04/11/2018 07:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I would like to see a Canadian Team win. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76260492 I do't live in Canada. When is the last time a Can team won ? Was it Calgary ? Montreal in 93. I think this is the year of the Golden Knight. Would be great for an expansion team to win the stanley cup on their first year. |

The only way we lose is if the Leafs shoot on the glove side of Rask. I was really hoping the Bruins got first because the Leafs always play us tough. Going to be a great series. Quoting: page8844 72511948 Haha, my Panthers took care of you last game. Bruins wont go far. Im going with Vegas or Columbus. |

Keep watching it freak! . Really? So why are you here? Just to talk shit? I have kids that play hockey and we enjoy watching hockey as a family. There is a ton of skill involved in playing hockey. |

You may be right, I am just slightly surprised at how well they are playing with all the young kids they are playing. Not enough experience is going to be their downfall in the playoffs. If they get to the conference finals I will be happy for this year. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 76456392 Canada 04/11/2018 08:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I used to be a Leafs fan. For 30 years Then I realized that the NHL, like the NBA and NFL are just businesses there to make money. Pat Burns said it himself - this is a business - when asked why he didn't trade for some players to help them win. Then I realized it was just a show for the masses. Bread and circuses. The Leafs suck. They have idiot owners and the fans have to be the dumbest in professional sports. Missed the playoffs 11 years in a row. How in the world is that possible in a league where more than half the teams make the playoffs every year. The team this year is no better than any team they've had in the last 20 - actually worse in many regards. But like a good business you have to give your star employee a bonus now and again and Gerry Bettemen threw the Leaf fans a bone by telling the refs to call lots of penalties on opposing teams so the Leafs get lots of power plays. Only a tard would think that this team has what it takes to actually win the Stanley Cup - unless of course it's rigged. |

However, this was largely because Ballard was unwilling to increase the payroll in order to improve the on-ice product, despite playing in the fourth-largest market. Even though the Leafs were barely competitive for much of the latter part of Ballard's tenure, every game at Maple Leaf Gardens was sold out. Ballard thus felt he had little financial incentive to sign better players. However, many players were unwilling to sign with Toronto in any event because of Ballard's reputation. There isn't ONE player on a Leaf team in the last 10 years that could hold a match to these guys talent wise. |
