16 year old in OH found dead hours after calling 911 for help - trapped in seat of Honda minivan

Maybe his dad was sitting on the seat to hold him under it for skipping school or something. The boy dies, dad drives car to off school parking lot to hide accident or crime. Or maybe a bully from school was sitting on it.

Weirder things have happened.

That's messed up. Hope the family sues the crap out of the vehicle manufacturer.

This is so awful, this poor boy.

Why didn't anyone help him earlier, wonder why he didn't call his parents or friends or someone who knew where the car was?

Why couldn't police use GPS on the phone, I thought they all have that nowadays.

So they can spy and track everything you are doing on your phone but can't find a car parked in half mile radius? WTF?!

The Google Search I used for "minivans: folding seat videos" came back with almost nothing but really long videos for a simple explanation. The above video is the shortest one I could find in that Google Search.

Well it is Ohio where it seems everything and anything goes down !

At age 16 i would of destroyed that fucking seat if it snapped on me! shit always carry a knife boys and girls!

Everythings so newfangled computerized that I believe it, An old lady died when her car locked her inside and wouldnt let her out

If what I've been reading in this thread is correct that involves the father then it's quite possible this was indeed a seriously messed up punishment administrated by the boy's father.

It just doesn't look or seem possible to me for someone to get stuck in such a life or death situation in a folding seat or what the vehicle industry calls the Stow 'N Go seats. At least it doesn't seem like it's possible to get stuck in such a seat on one's own. With help from one or more people it seems possible to get stuck in a folding seat though.

It's probably possible, there was just a thread about someone who died from getting stuck in a reclining movie theater seat even with people right there to help him.

Very sad.

Dang... I've rested on such chairs too. Generally I don't like to sit on them as the temptation to take a nap is quite strong. I paid to see a movie; I didn't pay to take a nap.

Seriously though, if that actually happened the victim probably had preexisting health issues that killed them, not the reclining movie theater seat.

Sources told the Cincinnati Enquirer on Thursday that Plush became trapped when he was leaning towards the back of the car, trying to get tennis equipment and the third row seat collapsed backward on top of him.

He was flipped into the floor of the cargo area near the hatchback, pinned upside down with the seat on his chest.

The 911 recordings are gut-wrenching.

Trapped in a gold 2002 Honda Odyssey van with his time running short, 16-year old Kyle Plush asked Siri to call 911 and begged the dispatcher for help in a series of emergency calls released by Cincinnati police.

Law enforcement looked for the van, but Kyle was dead, stuck between seats in the van, when he was found hours after the calls.

The recordings of Kyle's desperate calls have prompted the Cincinnati Police Department to launch an investigation.
The 911 calls

Kyle made his first call to 911 operators with Cincinnati Police shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday.

"Help, help, help I'm stuck in my van outside the Seven Hills parking lot. Help. I need help," he says.

A sophomore at Seven Hills School, Kyle was supposed to be at an afternoon tennis match.

Instead, he was using voice commands to dial 911, because he didn't have his phone in his hand, said Cincinnati Police Department Lt. Steve Saunders.

Neither Kyle nor the operator seem to be able to hear each other:

Dispatcher: Where are you?
Kyle: I can't hear you, I'm in desperate need of help.
Dispatcher: What is the address?
Kyle: Help, help, help. I can't hear you.

Kyle: If you don't send help I'm gonna die soon.

WHAT? The officer was at the vehicle and claimed he didn't see anything and the second call in was treated as a hoax!

THERE IS MOST CERTAINLY FAULT AND EVEN DELIBERATE MURDER 1! They wanted him to die.

They have those seats that fold down into the floor.

man, i seriously had to go take a walk and get it together. thats how much all that culmination of stupid that led to that kid dying got to me.
