I learned something about shooting today.

I've been shooting for decades but I realized something new (to me) today.

Here's what I figured out:

There's a big difference between heavy recoil and light recoil. But there's an even bigger difference between light recoil and no recoil.

For example, if you put a good muzzle break on a rifle chambered in 300 Win Mag, you will notice a big difference in recoil. It's like night and day.

However, if you put a good muzzle break on a 9mm carbine, then you've reached shooting nirvana. Follow-up shots are as fast as you can pull the trigger, even on very small targets.

I've always shunned muzzle breaks, thinking they were "for pussies" but performance doesn't lie. I'm sure that I will catch hell from some of my shooting buddies for putting a muzzle break on my Sub 2000 but I bet they will sing a different tune after shooting it.
