Many countries have them, just historically it has not been overly profitable to start mining them. That's changed past few years. This Japan deposit was known/discovered 5 years ago. Can you refute this, or are you complacent acting like a child? |

What Japan now need to do is establish a military bases on the island or make one like China did. They will also need an aircraft carrier and a submarine base there. Good on Japan, I'm pleased for them finding this. Now the world does not need to be held to a Chinese monopoly on rare earth's. |

Quoting: Sir Griffo Japanese researchers have mapped vast reserves of rare-earth elements in deep-sea mud — enough to feed global demand on a “semi-infinite basis”, according to a new study published in journal Scientific Reports. The deposits, found within Japan’s exclusive economic waters, contain more than 16 million tonnes of the elements needed to build hi-tech products from smartphones and radar devices to missile systems and electric vehicles, according to the study. Quoting: Sir Griffo As a country, Japan could achieve this feat courtesy of a new discovery near Minami-Tori-shima, an island around 2,000km from its south-eastern coastline. [link to smallcaps.com.au (secure)] I am very happy for Japan if this is true. that island belongs to the U.S. under the WW2 Terms of Surrender. . |

User ID: 75326829 Canada 04/19/2018 02:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Rare earth minerals are not rare. Their scarcity is due to their pretty much even distribution in the earths crust. Hence there are very few mines where they have found them at concentration. This find is astounding. As is Avalons (look them up, not in production mode yet). With the already in place tech for deep sea mining via Nautilus, they can no longer be considered 'rare'. If you are not busy weaving your own magick, you are trapped in anothers spell. “It’s time you realized that you have something in you more powerful and miraculous than the things that affect you and make you dance like a puppet.” – Marcus Aurelius |
