I Survived A Heart Attack... | |

It took her about a month to recover, hospice thought she would be gone within two weeks, she regained enough strength to go eat out in the dining room with her friends to eat meals and lived almost a year until she passed away in February. Our bodies do amazing things. Take care of yourself Dr. Acula! Oh and she would have a nip of vodka every night, lol ~With forethought and malice Whitless enacted an EO giving nursing homes immunity from wrongful death prosecutions, forced them to take in infected patients and is responsible for over 6500+ nursing home deaths~ |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 57331662 Damn Near it. I calley them promptly and reminded them I was a heart patient. I got put on hold for five minutes... until... a therapist style persona talked to me. Haha. Why was the bill so much? Is that what it would cost anyone who has a heart attack in the US? That's insanity. Thanks for pouring the salt on our obama-care wound miss socialized medicine lol **You live your life not for yourself, but for the sake of others** |

Quoting: Dr. Acula After tests... doctors determined I had a moderate heart attack. So docs sent me to the cath lab and they looked inside my heart. Turns out I had: 100% Blockage (which was old) 90% blockage 70% Blockage And FIVE 40% blockages. After a couple of caths to implant stents I was gave the all clear and released. The old 100% blockage had bypassed it's self. Which is rare to happen! Turns out I had at least 5 heart attacks before this one. The kicker I didn't have any heart damage. So not only did I survive a 100% blockage... rare! But walked around with it for a year. I had no damage to my heart. I thank Jesus and Bourbon for that. My daily cup of bourbon thinned my blood enough that I didnt die. I was 31 at the time of the last heart attack and weighed 190 pounds... and I was very active. In case your wondering. I walked 15,000 steps a day on average. This can happen to you at any age. Any fitness level. I've seen many cardiologist since and got all kinds of different opinions and they all agree. They don't know HOW I am alive.... much less have no damage to my heart. God and Bourbon. God and Bourbon. There is no definitive way of testing for heart damage. I know for a fact my heart has some damage due to drug use but I've had scans etc. and they say it's totally fine. If I had multiple heart attacks I would avoid strenuous exercise because your heart may not be 100% ok whatever the doctors say. I can't handle heat or cold... like I could before. Used to be I wouldn't feel either. Now I can definitely feel it. I still press on though. _______________________ |

Besides my empathy to your distress, I want to add some value here. I consider myself a survivor since 2003. 3 stents in two steps, prior heart attacks (not noticed) and still kicking. My doctor force then to start gym (I had a VERY sedentary life by then). He also advice to change radically my lifestyle. I was without a job by then. I dropped dozens of pounds within one year and also I entered into a low fat balanced mediterranean diet that I designed myself (always a stubborn selftaught person). In one year, I was jogging 20 miles a week (three times) and become paranoid about my vital biological values. For the lapse of SIX YEARS, I ingested about 1400 calories of a diet based on fish and chicken breast, plus salads. You can laugh, but I couldn't give up smoking, so I settle to no more than 8 cigs a day. I used CABERNET WINE (expensive, not cheap) instead of Bourbon and I kept an steady weight of 160 pounds (6.3 feet tall). I noticed that, with the years, I developed a significant amount of AFIB events at any time, plus exercise induced arryhtmias. By 2009, a change in my work forced me (not completely true), to drop the heavy exercize I did three times a week. Of course, I started to gain weight as I dropped my severe diet and I become, once more, sedentary. But there were a couple of things I NEVER abandon: 1. Bloodthinners, even when expensive. 2. Bayer Prevent aspirine, 325 mg. 3. Atenolol heart rate stabilizer, etc. My AFIBs dissapeared in one year, more or less. I attribute this to stop forcing my body to heavy exercizes. I Gained several pounds in the last 9 years, but I LEARNED something: - Once I dropped my excesive worries about my health, everything became better. Most of the damage is in the mind. Today, heavily overweight, I have some issues complications BUT I LEARNED not to worry so much about them. I believe that our destiny is written no matter what we do to prevent any life crash. I live day after day, and fear is long left behind. I hope this can help you! Godspeed! |

Thicker blood can cause a stroke. I have high hemocrit and hemoglobin and have been tested for Polycythemia Vera, a blood cancer, which causes too much blood. I’ve been told to never get dehydrated. I’d love to drink some booze again, but am afraid to due to thicker blood. Note: I must get a phlebotomy on occasion to lessen my hemocrit. My doctor joked about finding me a vampire. |

My husband suffered from myocarditis a heart condition caused by a virus that attached his sister’s lungs and my husband’s heart while sightseeing in New York. My husband ended up with an Arrhythmia and edema and had two surgeries for Venous Ablation for Lower Extremity Edema in his legs. This past November just before New Years Eve my husband suffered a stroke and realized he required immediate medical intervention. Dialed 911 for an ambulance and first responders were deputies and state troupers the first foolish deputy wanted to take my husband back into our house so he could talk to him. My husband had a stroke and could not communicate and I understood what was happening the stupid deputy had a hard on thinking drugs were involved without considering my husband was over 60 years old and a military veteran with no criminal record ever. My recommendation to you is to learn the symptoms of a stroke and have your family get you to a hospital ASAP and ignore stupid cops with a hard on in an attempt to glorify them. |

Not meaning to derail, but that reminds me of this time when my brothers and I were woken up in the middle of the night to all of this racket and I hearing my dad yelling and trashing about in his room. So, we ran to my dad's bedroom and threw open the door to find him yelling and crashing into all his bedroom furniture...he had fallen asleep on his arm and that arm had grabbed the other arm while asleep and he woke up panicked thinking someone was attacking him. We still laugh about it, that and doo I_AM_AN_ILLITERATE_RACIST I_AM_AN_ILLITERATE_RACIST pears, but that's a whole other story. **You live your life not for yourself, but for the sake of others** |

Quoting: AmericanSpyglass I’m 27 and this scares the shit out of me. I’m a father to a little girl and holy shit if I were to die tomorrow, nothing would be ok. I’m an avid scotch drinker and I walk 15,000 steps a day too... eerily similar lifestyle, save for the manual labor. I walk a sales floor all day and construction sites. My diet is not homegrown. Lots of Non-organic foods (they cost too much). Tons of Romaine lettuce ceasar salads, basically a high fat high carb diet. I drink chlorophyll and try to eat veggies when I can. I’m 5’11 and 175lbs. Not obese. What were some of the warning signs? What did the pain feel like? I have chest pains regularly, and it hurts when I breathe in, almost like I can’t. PM me if you have to. Thanks man. God bless. Ugh. Bumping my own post. Swore I never would. This dying young thing freaks me out. |
