Return scamming is a huge problem in retail. Easy to get away with.

last time I ordered socks for my kids they came in toddler sizes even though it said age 9-11, they were expensive too and shrunk even more because they were wool, I would have loved to return them but it's inconvenient.

Most stuff I won't buy from them especially clothes and food. You can't check this stuff out through the computer.

Then there is the fact that most geeks don't know which of the hammer to use.

Ebay needs to do this.

Now what about the scammers who order, get the order, then say they never got the order (item not recieved) so they can get another for free? That's a huge problem for amazon.

Also, returning a broken or completely different item. The people who check the returns don't care and will accept anything.

About 80% of the people that get caught stealing/returning stolen goods were black when I worked at best buy. The rest were mostly mexicans then whites. Among all, it’s mostly women that get caught stealing, about 90%.

We ordered from the same company. I ordered a bunch of socks that should have been big and comfy for me. They were tiny.

I gave them away rather than returning them.

Yep, I used to buy and sell these returns for a living and I've seen a lot of stuff like this. Old item in the new items box. Some people would even buy the newest biggest TVs, then swap out for older similar model, and even put the new TV's model number sticker on the back of the old TV.

All you have to do is put in your return policy something to the effect of "fraud will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law". My return rate dropped to a quarter of what it was before I did that.

I am a serial returner and am not a cheepskate. I pay $120.00 a year "Prime memebership" for what?

You fucking sheep do realize their free shipping is not free right? If you did a little bit of online retail shopping investigation you would know this.

The good thing is that so many people try to compete with Amazon that if I got banned it wouldn't be painful. I'd have to wait a week for things, and would probably pay a little bit less.

Amazon charges a lot of money to sell on their site as a percentage of the sale.

I once gave a cash refund for a television when I worked at Kmart during the late 90s before flat-screens. Should have checked first cause the box was full of bricks.

Idk who thinks their free shipping is actually free but you get it in 2-3 days at least. Overall good experiences with amazon for me

They are doing this because of thieves. People buy shit and “return” the item with a completely different item in the box or a used item. A water filter or light bulb or batteries or whatever ... or they buy clothes or sunglasses or whatever wear it for a month and then send it back for a refund.

Calm down they are not going after the guys who return stuff because it’s defective or poor quality.
