Then there is the geological issue of adding magma to a moving fault. Magma in the fault is not good no matter what paid off scientist tells you. That is an immediate threat to stability of that entire Slump it's even curious that there is a straight line of Fissures that just popped-up. has anyone ever seen a straight like of gopher holes? . There is another theory we thought about. The slump is beginning to slide, but VERY slowly at first. Bit by bit as 5000 cubic miles isn't all locked together 100%. So the sliding would have slow skips and jolts before the apparent motion becomes measurable. Considering the weight of 5000 cubic miles of earth, the resulting friction/pressures against the base of which Hilina slides on. Such amounts of heat generated may be enough to forge magma and spew it out along the fault line. Which would be the easiest path out. Maybe it isn't volcanic activity separate from Hilina Slump but a result of Hilina starting to slide. Which was caused by PGV swelling the land behind it with steam under pressure. well, USGS has got all the necessary instruments in place, along the northern part of The East Rift Zone. and any movement even well less than one centimeter is easily discernible. such observations probably fall into the category of "Deformations". and any such observations (measurements) would be posted. . |

There is a large lava lake type of area that is forming as it's been spreading out in the area. As of early this morning, reports have said that it's 88 feet from Pad E on Geothermal property. I can't remember which well they were having trouble "quenching". I think it was either 14 or 15, both of which are on Pad E.
