Tornado Sirens

I live in west central MN. In a town of about 15,000 people.

Last month and this month, the tornado sirens are running the first week of the month on multiple days. Yesterday I heard the sirens and of course I heard them today and we'll see if they go off other days this week.

I understand the norm is to run them on the first Wednesday of the month.

I'm sure it is nothing other than testing or perhaps getting people used to them going off.

I was just curious if this is happening in other locations.
