The opiate deaths are being under-reported. My nephew died by heroin. He was an addict and had numerous visits to the ER (it was only a matter of time till he killed himself with heroin) One day he was sitting on his bed shooting up, he passed out and fell between his bed and the wall, and died. His cause of death was ruled: "asphyxiation". Not a heroin overdose, as the amount in his blood wasn't determined to be lethal on its own.
