LOL! Democratic Congresswoman Claims She’s Pro-Trump in Effort to Keep Her Job

One Democrat is so desperate to keep her job in Congress that she is jumping sides and claiming she’s a big supporter of President Donald Trump.

Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota is the rare Democrat in a very red state, and is doing her best to keep the support of voters, who overwhelmingly supported President Trump in 2016.

In recent tweets and a new campaign ad, Heitkamp touts the fact that she often crosses party lines to support the President’s agenda.

“I voted over half the time with President Trump,” Heitkamp said in the ad, included below. “When I agree with him, I vote with him. I’m not a rubber stamp for anybody, I only answer to [North Dakotans],” she later added.

Heitkamp has her work cut out for her. Her competition is also in Congress, albeit in the House of Representatives. Rep. Kevin Cramer easily won the GOP nod this week. He’s popular and a strong conservative.

In this tweet, Sen. Heitkamp promotes her conservative stance on the issues, including her opposition to WOTUS, Obama-era water regulations that were opposed by President Trump and the Republicans.
