I hate authority and am gainfully employed, always have been.

Actually, of all the declared Christian protestant denominations, then some baptists are very good Christians living under the Sovereignity of GOD.

The main issue is untempered judgmental attitudes so much that it causes people to stumble. It's like yelling at good kids who are moral and doing well in school.

What is lost, out of fear of idolatry, is a sense of the spiritual awe and majesty of GOD. That results in holiness. That quality or attribute is found in some mystical Orthodox Christianity. Sometime in their service it is as though you are within the heavenly realm in Isaiah 6.

If you are not under authority, then that is a horrible situation like the ronin of Japan. They were masterless samurai who were the losers of a war or battles in which their clan and leadership was destroyed.

To be without a master is a curse.

Lancelot has no master and it grieves him...deeply. He knows he is a fine warrior but wants to serve a master as his leader and King.

Lancelot ends up betraying Arthurby sleeping with his wife. It destroys their friendship and his love for Guinevere and he loses his entire sense of confidence and it destroy his sovereignity and his tie to the Land.

Only the Holy Grail, the Cup of Christ, can heal such a deep wound.

At the opposite end, this is what happens when a soldier becomes a warrior and abandons any sense of authority.

I’ve done a pretty good job of success through non-compliance, however. It takes a lot of effort to design a lifestyle where authority doesn’t have such a strong affect on us.
