I’ve wondered this. I personally cannot be hypnotized. First time, I was résistent to begin with, so maybe that was the reason, but the second time I actually tried to do exactly what was suggested. I simply would not go under.

I agree with this. I have tried hypnosis for a few things but it does not work on me either.

Besides the media, social media and all, remember many of these younger ones grew up receiving participation trophies and got that entitlement attitude. Why should they work for something if they can get it for free. Years ago when the participation trophy thing started up I knew it was going to produce adults that did not have any understanding of losing, working for the win and a sense of pride. I knew it would be bad, I just seriously underestimated how bad.

The left got so emboldened during the black jesus years, they thought they were never going to lose power again. And to them, they should rule by divine right because they think they are smarter, more "tolerant", etc. It's like a junkie coming off a long trip and it's not pretty. That's some of it. The democratic party is mostly a bunch of fringe groups like Black Lives Matter, Move On, La Raza, GLBT, young socialists, and a few stalwarts who have always voted democrat and will go down with the ship even though their ideals differ substantially today with what that party actually stands for.

These fringe groups think they are losing ground after being able to push everybody around for 8 years. They have doubled down and are not only going after the politicians, but anybody who supports conservatism.

I've managed to keep friends who are Lefties because they are older and perhaps not as aligned to the party as some of the younger and fringe groups. But, I have lost a couple of relatives.
