She said she fears her husbands health has suffered greatly dealing with the stress of protecting them, while spending THOUSANDS to move their family here legally.

Most of the crime is directed at farms because farms are very undefended vs urban areas in South Africa, and farms are usually white. I've read of the same things happening to black farmers in South Africa and it's quite frankly disgusting. Farmers of all colors' vulnerability being taken advantage of.

Yea, Zimbabwe's history is strange, but it isn't as interesting as South Africa/Namibia's history though. Most interesting part of it is the relation between the German genocide in Namibia and the involvement of South Africa in Ww1, which tie into each other. All round interesting history.
