No, they made the unfortunate mistake of going into the cave right at the start of monsoon season in Thailand. If it weren't for monsoon rains, they'd have an easier time getting them back out.

Hopefully they can figure something else out, but at least they're alive for now. They do have international help. I can understand not wanting to take inexperienced, possibly panicky kids scuba diving through a dark cave system. When people panic in water, they can get very dangerous to the rescuer. Scuba diving plus darkness would just make it worse.

They had left items on the beach outside the cave before going in. They found these items, but the area/entrance there was flooded. They searched the area and found another way into the caves and sent divers in.

Yeah there's NO way those kids could learn to scuba dive and go thru the cave system safely, just by watching videos or something like that. It's just very unintuitive and weird, and training and experience are required.

I wonder if a hole could be drilled from the top and they could be extracted that way.
