Corey Booker dropped a wild conspiracy theory as to why President Donald Trump chose Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy.

Cory Booker claimed Trump chose Kavanaugh because he will “protect” him from possible prosecution from Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election meddling.

In a past decision, Kavanaugh lamented the idea of subjecting a President to outside litigation and even prosecution, arguing that a President might be immune from just about any law.

Without any proof or logic to support him, Booker launched into his wild speculation. “I don’t think this President could have chosen someone to better protect him from a special counsel investigation,” he said. “He (Kavanaugh) was the only one of four people on his list who specifically said a President should have immunity in these cases. So it’s like he chose somebody to protect himself from all the things that might arise from the investigation.”

Booker then claimed it was a crisis of constitutional proportions. “I think this is a constitutional moment…He basically picked they guy that would give him immunity.”

The New Jersey Senator then claimed Kavanaugh would pose a threat to gay rights issues. “These aren’t just gay rights issues, they are human rights issues. You can’t suppress one person without suppressing others…We need to be affirming the right to humanity…to love who you want, and to not be discriminated against. It’s crazy that we might be rolling backwards.”

Hours later, Booker was still wandering around outside the Supreme Court, and still dropping the same wild conspiracy theories with the media.
