Its about Animal rights I think. The animal is caged and used for human purposes for nothing even essential and it has to do the same thing YEAR after YEAR. So Bill Murray goes through the same day, DAY after DAY so we know exactly what the poor ground hog feels. The moral is that the Ground Hog should be free. I think there is a scene in the movie where Bill Murray tries to free it but he gets stopped by the Ground Hog owners. So until Puxatawny gives up the Ground Hog and lets it be free, the human race is going to suffer a lot. Anyways... IMHO. Is this right?
