I'm boiling my Bass strings

Good luck getting proper tuning ou4 of then now. Your guitar is about to sound terrible

didn't EVH boil his strings? That dude lies about almost every thing . I have never tried it myself. but if it works for ya that's great !

yes...strings...since 1984...bowp...lol

I have also boiled my bass string many times over the years.... a drop of vinegar helps too. They come out as new.

Had to do it out of financial necessity. Don't think EVH has that problem.
Also a set of bass strings costs 4 times as much times a set of guitar strings...

I'm hip!

yup/yeagh...guitar center is the best I found...cheap....boiled ( clean )

There is a great video on Youtube of a bass player showing examples of before and after of his bass string rejuvination

He says it works better than boiling for getting the twang slap snappy sound back

He just loosens the string and slaps the crap out of it for quite a while.

Tunes it back up , and it sounds like a fresh bass string

will welcome it...but..loosen will POP the E string

been thumping since 1977 , ( thump , before slapping) , we called it funk...P..funk

Yep, amazes me how people never heard of this.

If you play bass, or even know a bass player fairly well, you'll know about boiling the strings.

The drop of vinegar is good too.

A roommate of mine was doing this one day. I asked what he was cooking...he said bass strings...that was when i learned about it.

Only people in a band should play music.

You have to marinate them for in A-1 sauce for two days after boiling to get that classic GLP sound.

it works...gives it good/clean fresh birth
