Trump's appeal is 'straight out of "1984"': Longtime Republican strategist tears into Trump's tirades against the media

1. I find it laughable that he is somehow insinuating that Trump is the first politician to ever lie to incite fervor. And speaking of the media, didn't they get caught a couple of months ago using stock footage of immigrants in detention during the Obama years to... incite fervor? What was their angle, something about Trump putting babies in cages??? I believe they also used a tightly cropped photo from a protest where mothers actually did put their screaming children in a tiny cage outside an ICE office, and claimed it was a Trump detention center.

2. Obama had just as much of a cult of personality going as Trump, and still does... just in different demographics.

3. Victimization of as many segments of their voter base as possible is a plank of the Democratic party.

4. Trump has done nothing totalitarian whatsoever during his Presidency, he has in fact reduced the power of the federal government. 1984 was about communisum, a polar opposite of the actions he has taken as President.

5. Trump talks a lot of shit about the media... Obama put reporters in jail. More so than the previous 5 Presidents combined. He used intelligence agencies to spy on them, and threatened them with indefinite detention unless they revealed their sources. But Trump bumps his gums on Twitter and he's Big Brother all of a sudden...

First of all this is not about Obama this is about Trump. You cannot justify Trump by stating what Obama did wrong, both are deep state puppets.

If Trump is a deep state puppet, then his attacks on the media are coordinated with the media. What point are you even trying to make here then???

Trump is a breath of fresh air, he speaks the truth and calls a spade a spade! I smile every time I see him call someone a crook or an idiot on twitter, because it's always the truth!

He calls the press "fake news" and "the enemy of the people" because that's EXACTLY what they are.

BTW, the press did nothing but lie to cover the evils of a corrupt Deep State in "1984", that was sort of the entire premise of the book. Read it.
