I mean what is really going on? Last night power was knocked out over major swaths of South East Louisiana and many reported having never seen lightning like this before. The lightning was so bad it fried my electrical circuits in my breaker box and fried my dad's modem. Today, another approaching storm brought severe storms with extreme lightning yet again. We lost power as did many and some reported seeing deep red skies after the storms departed. Some blame it on global warming but I think something is perturbing the atmosphere other than that. What say you?

Unplug all appliances or electronics that are not being used.I do this with my computer. When I am done, I unplug it. Only keep things plugged in that are continually running, like your frig. Surge protectors are good, but even they can fail. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!!

Omg same here on LongIsland and wtf? Never seen anything like this lightning. It's scary three people got struck by lightning in Queens. This isn't normal something is happening to the environment. 😳 parisangel

Quoting: NOLAangel You can get a lightning rod for your home, which might help protect your breaker box from a short.Look them up. They used to be common on older homes, and still are in use out in the country. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!!

Personally, I have never seen anything like this in my area. Usually the more severe weather goes over the more open areas and not populated areas like us.
