Anonymous Coward User ID: 75761068 United States 08/11/2018 02:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I normally work it off doing something strenuous until I'm fatigued, takes an hour or two depending how wound up you are, but it always does the trick. Quoting: Surfer 7 Hmm I don't much that's strenuous. I work out, but I don't kill myself doing it. I work out around 4ish, I can't work out later than that because I like to have everything done by a certain time every day. But, ty for the suggestion. :) That might be part of the problem, sometimes you need to mix things up a little. And you don't have to hurt yourself, even taking a walk at night will often help loosen you up enough to sleep. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 63155543 United States 08/11/2018 02:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've always had this problem...overthinking and ruminating, it's a vicious cycle. And ALWAYS it's something "big" coming...or so I've told myself. The bottom line is everyone has stressors and life wasn't meant to be a cake walk. No, it's not meant to minimize issues, but to place them into a manageable context. And, ALWAYS, they are dealt with and we get through them...just look back on other life "hurdles". Some easier, some were harder. I've yet to hear of anyone who just collapses and withers away from the big stuff. Sleep. Well, done that, tried that. How about a warm shower, reset the sleep space (fluff the pillows, straighten the sheets), put on an old black and white movie of a dull nature, and lay back and...........quit fighting it. No sleep? Bet you vast sums that you will when you do. Context. |

User ID: 76825341 United States 08/11/2018 03:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I do what I'm doing now, listening to YouTube while browsing GLP. I've suffered from insomnia basically my entire life. My body could be beyond exhausted, but my brain never quiets down. I'll just toss and turn in bed and think, think, think. Then I grab 2-4 hours of actual sleep, then the cycle starts again. It sucks sometimes, especially if I have a long day ahead of me. But that's good, as I'll just crash out when I hit the bed. But then 4 hours later, I'm awake again. As a human being, it is my duty to question everything and everyone. Anyone who blindly accepts what is shown or told to them without asking a single question is a fool. You're either free or you're a slave, there's zero middle ground. |

I eventually gave that up. Just woke up one day and said no more. Now I accept it as a part of what makes me who I am. As a human being, it is my duty to question everything and everyone.
