THESE ARE GOOD EXAMPLES One of the greatest records ever made was 1963’s “Night Beat” by the mighty late great Sam Cooke...the entire Record is brilliant from start to finish... recorded late at night/early morning hours... his voice singing that melody over a simple bass line on this track right here is simply remarkable... ~BP |

THESE ARE GOOD EXAMPLES I have been Immersed in this thread since I woke up this morning. I can't say thank you enough to the OP. I have cried so many tears of reflection and joy this morning. I think the band Marmalade in the 2nd page pretty much says everything that this threat is about. My contribution is on behalf of an early 70 folksinger whom I adore. Her name is Melanie. I don't know if anyone has posted any of Melanie's music yet, but I will watch for it as I go through the remaining pages. If you don't remember Melanie, then maybe you will remember her song "Brand-New Key". I am not going to post the Link here because personally I despise that particular song. Once it gets in your head it is the worst mind tick ever and It never leaves LOL. I never really did like that song, but her stunning, soulful magical voice and her musical talent will captivate you. She has a lot of songs that you will recognize, but my favorite is Peace Will Come. I want to tell you how I met her. And though when I tell this story no one believes me, I'm going to tell it to you all for what it's worth. the ones who do believe me are my family of course, and the man that I was in a relationship with at the time. They are my only witnesses. No doubt you have heard Her song "Brand-New Key. No doubt. Everybody on the planet has. In fact when you think of Melanie, that is normally the song that you think of. Here's my story. It's the God's truth. I just don't have any reason to lie and this shit can't be made up. In the late 90s I was cruising around our neighborhood one Saturday looking for yard sales. I used to have a low rider 3 will trike that I could carry a lot of stuff on. It was a recumbent, and I could cruise a lot of neighborhoods in one morning looking for yard sales. I came across one that was full of all kinds of cool stuff, parked my low-rider on the side of the packed driveway. While standing next to one of the patrons, I glanced over at her. She was holding one of those old-time rollerskates that used a key. Now mind you, I've never used one, so I didn't know much about them. The lady holding it was fascinated by it, and we talked about it a little bit, and then all of a sudden together we both burst out singing "I've got a brand-new pair of rollerskates, you've got a brand-new key!". We giggled and laughed and she turned and asked the lady who was running the yard sale how much she wanted for the skates. The lady running the yard sale said "oh I don't know, $3 I guess". I don't know whether or not the woman bought skates but I think she did. I moved along and closer to the table where the lady sat who was running the yard sale. I stared at her. Mind you, I have limited vision and have been visually impaired all of my life. So seeing detail is something that I just do not do. There was something else about the woman behind the table. And before I could realize I was saying it, I blurted out "you are her!" I stared at her, and couldn't believe I had just said that! But the lady sitting behind the table who was running the yard sale sheepishly smiled and her eyes went downcast and she rolled her shoulders forward slightly and said yes, I am. I was looking at Melanie. Melanie, was having a yard sale, in my neighborhood. I had no idea she even lived in my state, much less my neighborhood. As I glanced around I was delighted to see all of the cool old hippie things she was selling. Jewelry, clothes, trinkets from what must've been her massive amounts of traveling she did. About about $300 worth of stuff from her! Because I am an old hippie at heart, we have a lot to talk about. Back then I was a licensed massage therapist so being the business girl that I was I handed her my card. She called me. I came to her house to give her massage sessions a couple of times until her husband put a stop to it. Apparently her husband did not like outsiders. But she and I got along fine when he wasn't looking over her shoulder. I can understand why he was protective of her. But we never did get to take our walks together like we promised each other. Life got in the way. I saw her one time just a few years later in a local clothing store. We hugged and cried and promised we were going to take those walks together. But still, we never did. Melanie was a gracious soul, but that day when her husband rushed her into the car, I knew that was the last time I would ever see her. I know this was a bit of a long story but I just wanted to share it with you. It is the truth. I was honored to have met such a lovely spirit and to this day her music still holds a special place in my soul. Here is one of my very favorites called Peace Will Come." Let's hold this song dear to our hearts as a reminder that one day, Peace Will Come to the people of this earth. |

THESE ARE GOOD EXAMPLES Yes but so BEAUTIFUL long ago. Now we have mostly low tonal garbage, demonic music, not uplifting, positive, high-tonal. We should be thanking GOD we got to live through when things were still beautiful and can visit there, in our hearts, for the time being (through wonderful videos like these) *** Good deeds bring rewards, bad actions bring troubles. That is a law of the universe. *** |

WE NEED MORE BEAUTY IN MUSIC AGAIN. THESE ARE GOOD EXAMPLES Today's music is so insipid. Just horrible! Where's the tunes that get your blood racing and make you want to dance with joy? Just winy voices with barely a tune. I only have radio in my car, which I almost always turn off in disgust. Every now and then they might play an oldie that gets me going......then I feel happy, inexplicably! |
