Especially for those long tunnels and build from both end which will meet in the middle.
If they do not consider the curvature of the earth. Then there will be the solid proof the earth is not round. There is no way they can met joint point perfectly without calculate the curvature of the earth.

The building of the Chunnel they had to. Anything longer than 3 or 4 miles, the curvature must be taken into account.

We live in a firmament [ dome ] on a earth that is unmovable [ doesn’t move ] resting on 4 pillars. The earth is flat get use to it that is where you live. One video of the earth rotating on it’s axis and I’ll eat my words and apologize with deep sincerity.

The Gotthard Base Tunnel in Switzerland is 35 miles long so engineers would have to account for 817 feet of curvature!
Did they? No! Why? They know the earth is flat.

how are pencils straight if the earth is a globe...
fucking cmon if my grandma had wheels she would have been a bicycle.

the earth is so big you don't need to account for the curvature. Take a level and keep leveling for miles... the curvature will have no effect since the size is so big.

I want to talk to Elon about dig a hole through the earth to the other side. That way we can travel to China with almost no energy cost. Total Green. Just drop into the hole in LA and show up in Beijing no engine needed. Also since it is in straight line. it will be the shorted distance as well.
I call this Project EarthX. Elon, Call me! wink wink.

What is 817 feet compared to the height of mountains?

Tunnels have a fixed start point A and a fixed end point B. The tunnel goes from A to B. The tunnel is curved to minimize drop and ascent.

Re: Do they consider curvature of the earth when they build tunnels?
Yes.

All civil engineers and surveyors take into account the eight inches per mile squared curvature equation.

Oh, wait.

Actually, they don't!
