Yes they can crash into planets and moons and there are million of junks mostly from discontinued satellites.

P900 , great camera. I've been wanting to buy it for a while.

The moon is 3000k~ miles across. If that thing were near the surface of the moon it would be huge. It does seem to change course but I think it's not near the surface of the moon.

Some satellites orbited the Moon but they were not visible from Earth, but satellites in Earth orbit are easily visible. If you shoot the Moon for a certain time, you'll be lucky to shoot a satellite of the earth moving toward it.

You can know the time of the passage and the satellite trajectory in your city through this site, with luck you can see some with your own eyes.
