I just read about this... Apparently antibodies stay in your system after you are over being sick from each strain.

So, how often does the flu mutate?

Every year??? How is that possible?

Seems a bit fishy to me.

What if they genetically engineer the flu each year so every year they have an excuse to inject us with an unknown agent?

I refuse to get a flu shot.

I dont get one either because it is better for your body to contract the virus and fight it off. As it strengthens your immune system. The flu shot is desinged for high risk patients such as asthmatics the elderly and children whom it could possibly kill if their immune system is weakened. Also genetically enginerring it would be pointless seeing as as the mutation rates are so rapid that it would make more sense to just wait until it evolves and then fill your vaccine full of whatever you wanted to poison the population with. However this would also never happen as all of the if you were wanting to get masses to ingest unknow agents there are far more effective and subtle methods to do so. The flu jab is a flu jab. My partner is a microbiologist by profession. You have nothing to worry about in that department. However if you are young and healthy I would abstain from taking it for the reasons i have just disclosed.

Peace

You can get strain a and strain b in the same year though. I unfortunately got it twice last year.

Viruses can mutate very quickly. If you had a strain of flu virus, you probably would also be resistant to similar, but not identical strains.

Well if you get the Flu 80 times, once for every year your average life span is, then there are 80 different strains...at least...really not that many if you think about it but most people don't even get flu that often and as you get older the odds are even rarer to get flu cuz you have already created the key in years earlier.

That is why they want us to get vaccinated every year. They keep changing the strain of flu and injecting it into the population.

yes, i've know this for decades. It is why you keep getting a cold throughout your life. Slightly different virus, could be the same which has mutated slightly. They mutate VERY quickly.

Remember the H1N1 pandemic from a few years back, when everyone was panicking because it was more dangerous to young people than seniors? (The opposite of the usual Influenza strains.)

It's because the seniors had lived through previous versions of H1N1, while the young had no immunity. Same goes for H3N2 which manifested as the Hong Kong flu pandemic in 1968.

Re: Did you know that you can't get sick from the same strain of flu virus twice?
Every year, they push the new flu vaccine (this year is different!) and every year it turns out that one would have been better off not getting vaccinated, as well as avoiding the gradual and probably irreversible weakening of the immune system from so many vaccinations -- and other danger from poisons in the vaccine.

Don't get a flu vaccination! If you get a bad flu, take serrapeptase to keep mucus down, it's antiviral too to some extent, so that even if it does progress to pneumonia it will be mild and controllable.

I'm shocked! Intelligence on the internet! I am 61 and have never had a flu shot. I may have missed a total of 3 days of work due to the flu in my entire life. I also never wash my hands with those goofy antibacterial sprays, c'mon, germs, hit me with your best shot. I also drink copious amounts of vodka. I think that's the real secret to good health.

Immunocompromised people can get a similar infection. This is the types of patient who has an autoimmune disease Like RA, Crohns disease and taking meds to slow their immune system, or someone whohas HIV, or is being treated for cancer.

A measles infection will kill the immune memory cells, wiping clear your immune memory and allowing you to be infected by pathogens you were previously immune to. The effect is not lasting, new immune cells will be formed but following a measles infection a person is immunocompromised for two to three years.

I was actually wonduring about that with the flu shots. I've never had one but I was actually thinking about getting it this year.
And anyways I was thinking if people that had flu shots since they came out if that means pretty much they would be covered if the same flu came back around from 10 years ago..
And also on the walgreens flu shot commercial it actually sais to come in and there pharmacist would see WHICH flu shot would be the right one for you.. That made me wonder 1st I thought there was only 1 flu shot each year depending on which strain they thought would be coming around. So I dunno now

There are either 3 or 4 flu strains in each year's vaccine. Flu shot immunity might last 2 years, but if you actually caught the flu and survived, immunity could be lifetime.

They have injections and nasal mist vaccines, but that's just Walgreens marketing. They don't let you choose specific strains.

Haven't found a virus or bacterium goldenseal doesn't kill. Catch it early enough and you don't even get sick.

Too bad more people aren't aware of this. Especially good for respiratory infections.

Best to take it in tincture form in an oz. of juice so it hits the throat on the way down.

herb-pharm makes a good one.

Re: Did you know that you can't get sick from the same strain of flu virus twice?
Used to get cold, flu, throat stuff multiple times a year. Sometimes so bad it felt like I wasn't really there, heat, cold, lead-head, nose blocked to the point it felt like I couldn't breathe, migraines, dizzy, horrid throat issues, nausea (sometimes used puking, which for me is unheard of since my gag reflex has been mentally blocked most of my life due to OCD) etc. Sometimes lasting weeks. It's been at least over half a dozen or more years since anything like that, and I think I've had like one or two tiny colds since. All I did was add more fruit/veg/turmeric, colloidal silver and wild oregano oil. I had a mouth infection and doctor's REFUSED me antibiotics, so they basically saved my life those last few. Nowadays, they're mostly used in a mouth wash everyday.

Re: Did you know that you can't get sick from the same strain of flu virus twice?
Flu shots are a farce and a con.

The flu “vaccine” they have THIS year is based on LAST year’s flu strain. Flu viruses mutate each year. So the flu vaccine this year is useless. They’ve even admitted it’s basically ineffective.

So why are they pushing the flu vaccine and even offering it for FREE?

If money isn’t the motivating factor for them, what is? What’s in the flu shot that they want in our systems so badly?
