I lost a middle age friend to suicide a few years back so this article was very personal.

I am pro-capitalism but this is where capitalism fails with the extortion interest and bankers and debt.

BTW If you are having thoughts of suicide, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 (TALK) or go to SpeakingOfSuicide.com/resources for a list of additional resources.

Jesus saves....peace.....out.

Exerpt from article

"NEW YORK — Both men were longtime taxi drivers from Romania. Both were worried about paying their bills as Uber decimated their industry. They were best friends. And both had struggled with depression.

Nicanor Ochisor’s wife dragged him to a doctor in March to get help. Two days later, he hanged himself in his garage.

“I didn’t know he was so depressed,” his friend, Nicolae Hent, said.

Hent had taken antidepressants. He wished he could have told Ochisor that it would get better.

“I didn’t know. I still feel bad even now — why I didn’t know that,” Hent said recently as he drove his taxi through Queens.

Ochisor was one of six professional drivers to die by suicide in New York in the last year — a crisis that has prompted a flurry of legislation to address the despair plaguing the industry. Most were men in their 50s and 60s anguished about their finances and feeling hopeless about being able to retire.

Many taxi drivers are under incredible stress, but Ochisor’s story shows how difficult it can be to convince those with severe depression to talk about it. Life behind the wheel of a taxi can be solitary and the job tends to attract independent-minded people who might not feel comfortable talking about emotions that can carry a stigma."

I had a dear Catholic priest friend commit suicide some 28 years ago.

He was on the anti-depressant "Imipramine"

Common side effects may include:
tingly feeling, weakness, lack of coordination;
dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea;
vision changes, ringing in your ears;
breast swelling (in men or women); or.
decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm.

What they don't tell you up front on many of the anti-depressants is that if your blood level is wrong on content you can actually become even more suicidal.

So as not to dwell on the negative....

I have been taking St. John's Wort (available in virtually all health food stores) which is a natural mood elevator or anti-depressant if you will.

Niacin is also quite helpful and was recommended to me by a GLP member some years back after a personal family member's suicide attempt.

The FDA has not yet made it illegal (to sell their synthetic derivatives for massive profit) but they are trying to do so.

Young Living makes an essential oil called "Valor" which is also elevating to the mind.

I apply it on my forehead (temple).

It contains:

Sweet almond oil
Spruce leaf oil
Rosewood oil
Frankincense

I also use just the Frankincense alone which I get in a NOW essential oils.

The Frankincense is very elevating and great for feeling like you are in a massive old cathedral with a processional and will move you into a great vibe for contemplation and meditation.

You are quite welcome Torchie.

IMHO in addition to the debts for Taxis I think there are tens of millions of Gen X and Millenials feeling the depression and stress of student loan debt.

I still have loans from my post graduate studies from over 24 years ago.

Under Biblical law there was to be a debt release sabbath every 7th year... (that was somewhat incorporated into our bankruptcy laws) and a Jubilee complete release from debts every 49th/50th year.

Mystery Babylon does not want to let the debt slaves go free.

I think for many it is the realization that despite your best efforts, despite your having played "by the rules" and despite your being a kind and loving human being, one who cares and has always tried to be the very best you can be, it's never been enough. There are always those more than willing to lie to you, to use you for their own greed, to take advantage and yes, to throw you away...it can be this realization, this realization of just what an evil World this really is, you just don't want to be here anymore....

Torah Scripture Laws regarding Debt and release

Deuteronomy 15:1 At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release. 2And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD'S release. 3Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release; 4Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it: 5Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day. 6For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.

I work at a desk. I know being sedentary too long creates problems with health by itself... taxi drivers... no stretch there....

I had to tell my dad this... get natural sunlight, take walks, and for goodness sake you have to have regular BM's or you will get toxic.

I think city living is very toxic and eventually the stress of it can cause things like depression.

I would say that getting out is a better answer than drugs.

Resilient people don't commit suicide when their job ends. They bounce back. Depressed people don't bounce back.

What I'm saying is: it isn't being a taxi driver. It is the city, it is the toxic environment, it is toxic modern life.

There is no drug for that.

I suppose it is possible to eek out a healthy existence in the city if a person really, really tried. But it sure wouldn't look like the lifestyles of any city people I know.

Cities carry many unclean earthbound bad spirits from prior generations that have not left this plane of existence.

Scripture uses the term "cup of iniquity" to perhaps describe a condition of geographic regions like cities that are building up very bad Karma energy unto judgement like Sodom and Gomorrah that cries out to heaven.

NYC just shut new new Uber cars for a year about a month ago. Existing TLC licensed cars can continue, but no more applications will be processed. There is attrition, so the number of Uber cars on the street will go down, at least for the next 11 months or so.

Additionally, they are going to force the companies to give the drivers a raise, and some other benefits that I don't remember now.

I'm noticing an upswing in suicides in general. I've lost 5 friends from suicide, from 2011 - 2016, all men, 3/5 were former military, 4/5 were going through a domestic issue, they were between the ages of 38 - 44.

I was thinking of them yesterday, wondering if there are more suicides in Gen x? Milennials? Boomers? Curious to know if suicide overall is on the rise.

They should ban all the driving apps or tax them out of business. Taxi drivers should be protected after paying so much to operate. They have been let down all so others can get rich.

I agree or let them out of their contracts "Scott" free due to the Uber competition with virtually no regulations or barriers.

Yes that would be good. They have utterly destabilized the market and shouldn't have to suffer for their poor practices.

The FDA has not yet made it illegal (to sell their synthetic derivatives for massive profit) but they are trying to do so.

st. john's wort can lead a bi-polar brain to suicide. don't be so casual about advertising it as a good option. i know depression and bi polar aren't the same thing but this still needed to be said.

My friend who quit it all worked in prisons.... the election of BO really rocked his world as a white middle aged male I think he had already faced massive discrimination in law enforcement as a sheriff patrol... he was even falsely accused of rape... (hmmm Kavanaugh.... yup that shit happens way too much)

This really reveals much about the spiritual nature of NYC, the Statue of Liberty in particular and the concept of debt, spiritual and physical slavery.

I lost a middle age friend to suicide a few years back so this article was very personal.

I am pro-capitalism but this is where capitalism fails with the extortion interest and bankers and debt.

You can thank the jews for that. Capitalism can easily exist without it
